Abstract
One of the most important questions stemming from the end of the Cold War centres on the issue of how reductions on defence spending will affect economic performance. After a review of literature on the defence-growth relationship and examination on theoretical relationship between defecence spending and export, the author systematically explores the indirect relationship between defence spending and economic growth by using a Box-Jenkins ARJMA (Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average) causal model.
