Temas abordados pela literatura podem ser visualizados na sociedade, sejam estes incorporados a um cenário real ou distópico, como é o caso da obra O Conto da Aia, de Margaret Atwood. Publicado pela primeira vez em 1985, esta obra aborda a vida das mulheres após um golpe de Estado que instaurou uma teonomia totalitária e fundamentalmente cristã em uma região dos Estados Unidos. Considerando isto, o presente artigo aborda a obra de Atwood sob uma reflexão sociológica acerca do patriarcalismo. Para tal, partimos dos estudos de autores como Simone de Beauvoir, Maria Luísa Ribeiro Ferreira, Flávia Biroli, Michelle Perrot, entre outros. Através da perspectiva de base sociológica, acreditamos ser possível um entendimento da manifestação do patriarcalismo em O Conto da Aia e as implicações que tal sistema acarretou para a vida das personagens, o que viabiliza uma reflexão sobre uma sociedade pautada em socializações diferentes para homens e mulheres.

This study aims to discribe 1) houseold waste management in Salareh Aia village, 2) waste disposal or destruction behavior by housewives and working mothers in Salareh Aia village, and 3) factors that influence the behavior of housewives and mothers works on houseold waste management in the Salareh Aia village. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive. Using the informant selection techniques purposif sampling. Data collection technique using observation, interviews and documentation. The result showed that 1) management houseold wastein Salareh Aia village was still low, because the waste sorting was not carried out by housewives while wprking mothers who carried out waste sorting were only carried out by mothers who work as teachers and midwives. The waste management model yhat is carried out appliying the R2model (Reuse). 2) the behavior of culling or disposing of garbage by housewives and working mothers is three a) Dumping In water (throwing garbage into the river), b) Dumping (throwing garbage into canyons or ravines and roads), c) Incenaration (burning rubbish). 3) the factors the influebce housewives and working mothers in waste management in Salareh Aia village are three a) education, b) the role of government and community leaders, and c) facilities and infrastructure ; Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan 1) pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga di nagari Salareh Aia, 2) perilaku pembuangan atau pemusnahan sampah oleh ibu rumah tangga dan ibu bekerja di nagari Salareh Aia, dan 3) faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku ibu rumah tangga dan ibu bekerja dalam pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga di nagari Salareh Aia. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deksriptif kualitatif. Menggunakan teknik pemilihan informan purposif sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi.
