As societies become more polarized, there is increasing pressure for business leaders to have a sense of purpose and to make moral decisions. Being a good leader requires both a keen understanding of the realities of human decision making as well as an analysis of what is right and wrong. This book integrates lessons from three intellectual traditions - psychology, philosophy, and political economy - to guide readers on a journey to rigorously explore their values and decision making. The authors begin by examining people's intuitions about right and wrong. They then clarify principles that embody these intuitions and help readers engage with others whose intuitions or principles differ from their own. Ultimately, this book teaches readers how to be strategic as they lead with their values: as individuals, as designers of organizations, and as businesspeople interacting with societal institutions.

The business world today is also starting to develop along with business competition, whether on a small, medium or large scale. One of them is Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The purpose of this study was to analyze entrepreneurial values such as self-efficacy and achievement motivation on business performance, and entrepreneurial commitment as mediating variables. This research was conducted in MSMEs in Malang City and involved 100 respondents, namely business owners. This study is quantitative using explanatory research. The explanatory research aimed to test a theory or hypothesis in order to support or reject the theory or hypothesis from previous research results. The data analysis used path analysis with Partial Least Square (PLS) software (SmartPLS 3.0). The objective of this study was to examine the effects between variables (self-efficacy, achievement motivation, entrepreneurial commitment, and business performance). The results of this study are the influence of self-efficacy on entrepreneurship commitment and performance, achievement has a significant effect on business performance, but not significant on entrepreneurial commitment, then entrepreneurship commitment on business performance, and has a mediating role between self-efficacy on business performance. Meanwhile, entrepreneurship commitment does not mediate the effect of motivation on business performance. Further research can be done by adding other variables and seeing whether entrepreneurship commitment can strengthen the influence of motivation on business performance through a moderation test.

Over the last decades scholars have been devoting more and more attention to differences and similarities between public and private sector organizations. Relatively underrepresented, when compared to studies on organizational status and management, are comparative empirical studies on the differences and similarities between the central values of public and private sector organizations. This article presents an overview of the academic debate on differences and similarities between the morals and values of public and private sector organizations. Public and private sector values derived from Administrative Ethics and Business Ethics literature are compared, as well as values that are mentioned in public and private sector codes of conduct. In addition, intra-sector comparisons between the values derived from literature reviews and those in codes are conducted. After the distinguished values are weighted, combined and supplemented, taking into account empirical research on public and private sector values as well, a definitive 'value panorama' is presented as a basis for empirical comparative research. Implications and strategies for future research are presented.

Abstract: This paper examines how one group of business offenders is sentenced. It is argued that both the seriousness of offences and the culpability of offenders are important factors, but that their effect is influenced by the absence of relevant information and the ability of defendants to neutralise blameworthiness. The status of offenders may be less significant than the general appeal of defendants to business values. The apparent leniency of sentences arises in large part from the ambiguous criminal status of offences. On occasion however offences can be more harshly viewed and this shared set of values can be challenged.
