Cryptography and steganography are significant tools for data security. Hybrid the cryptography with Steganography can give more security by taking advantage of each technique. This work has proposed a method for improving the crypto-stego method by utilizing the proposed dictionary method to modified ciphertext then hiding modified encrypt ciphertext in the text by used the proposed modified space method. For cryptography, we have been utilized an advanced encryption standard (AES) to the encrypted message, The AES algorithm is utilized a 128bit Block Size and 256bit key size. The ciphertext characters is then replaced by the characters identified by dictionary list. The dictionary is time-dependent, where each of the equivalent words will shifting based on the time-shift equation. The modified ciphertext is then embedded into a cover text so that the attacker cannot separate them by applying cryptanalysis. The "Modifying Spaces" method used "Spaces" to build a steganography tool that hide the secret message.
The experimental results show that the proposed method has achieved high-security level when combined cryptography and steganography in such way that the ciphertext is changed to another value by a used dictionary with time sequence that makes cryptanalysis test failed to guess and identify the algorithm that been used for encryption. The stego. test shows the proposed method achieved good results in term of capacity and visibility which is approved it hard to notice. The tests also approved that the proposed methods run fast with a less computational requirement.

Microsoft Rights Management Services (RMS) is a system designed to ensure the protection and proper use of electronic documents. RMS allows to apply different access policies for documents, thus allowing to control their use in time. The system allows not only defining access policies at document creation, but also after its distribution. Microsoft RMS uses a number of advanced cryptographic mechanisms and primitives to ensure overall service security. In this paper, we have analyzed the security of RMS, indicating a number of possible gaps. The methods of solving those problems, especially those related to data integrity, have been proposed.

In 1943 Britain's security experts began to investigate the development of new cipher machine technologies. This resulted in the creation of the initial projects to construct the Rockex family of cipher systems. The development of the systems marked a major step in the building of a technocratic culture within Britain's primary wartime cryptanalysis agency, the Government Code and Cypher School housed at Bletchley Park. This article explores the evolution of Bletchley Park's wartime technocratic culture and utilizes the Rockex project as a case study; moreover it establishes the importance of the project as a catalyst of further institutional cultural change.

GOST is a well-known government standard cipher. Since 2011 several academic attacks on GOST have been found. Most of these attacks start by a so called "Complexity Reduction" step [Courtois Cryptologia 2012] the purpose of which is to reduce the problem of breaking the full 32-round GOST to a low-data complexity attack on a reduced-round GOST. These reductions can be viewed as optimisation problems which seek to maximize the number of values inside the cipher determined at given "cost" in terms of guessing other values. In this paper we look at similar combinatorial optimisation questions BUT at the lower level, inside reduced round versions of GOST. We introduce a key fundamental notion of Contradiction Immunity of a block cipher. A low value translates to working software attacks on GOST with a SAT solver. A high value will be mandatory for any block cipher to be secure. We provide some upper bounds for the Contradiction Immunity of GOST.

Cryptanalysis, linguistics, literary analysis, content analysis, and translation have been edging together in theory and in method for some years. Since World War II a new invention complex has appeared that emanates from and speeds up the amal gamation of fields. This is mechanical or machine translation, a socio-mechanical invention to promote trans-linguistic communication. Working largely with general purpose computers, a hundred men and a score of organizations have brought MT to the stage of rough models. If several of the fundamental problems are solved in the next generation, "One World" in the language of science, literature, and politics may begin to materialize. This article is based in part on the author's questionnaire survey of the organizations and individuals presently concerned with MT.

Bletchley Park is a former country estate, with a large house in an undistinguished late Victorian style. During its time as the Headquarters of UK cryptanalysis efforts in WW2, its grounds began to fill with huts, followed by massive information processing blocks. In the postwar era, elements of the intelligence services remained until much of it became a telecommunications training school. It can be seen as an underacknowledged cauldron of information processing experimentation, a cinematic cypher, and a prism through which we can view British senses of wartime, class, transatlantic power, stunted modernity, the military roots of the information age, and relations to ruin and redevelopment. Moreover, this thesis make the combination of hash functions which is a one way encryption, as a key with Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm which is a two way encryption as a ciphering generator to obtain confidentiality and integrity.The proposed system combining between the advanced encryption standard with secure hash algorithms based on Labview software and hardware implementation using Xilinx FPGA card. System generator was made to connect the software of the proposed system with hardware platform based on MATLAB system generation and in Labview platform in MATLAB script.The simulation results show the good ideas and powerful form of strength of security with different form and size of plain text with both SHA-1 and SHA-2 of size extend from (1-bits to 2256 bits) and from these results hardware implementation achieved by SPARTAN 3AN with clock of 50 MHzThe proposed system was designed based on FPGA, simulated using MATLAB and Xilinx-ISE 14.7 and then implemented in Spartan-3A 700AN FPGA. The proposed hash algorithms in this thesis obtained with laptop specifications: CPU is 2.5 GHz, core i5, memory RAM 4GBytes and system type 64 bits. The implementation completed with Labview version of 2013 32-bits, Xilinx ISE 14.7 and FPGA Spartan 3A 700AN. Well results obtaining and a satisfying security level of the proposed work with respect to security statistical test with pass percentage of 90%.

Cryptography is the science of transforming data using a key such that the data is unintelligible to those who do not have the key. The primitive operation at the disposal of cryptography is encryption. Encryption is used to provide message privacy and integrity. It has helped in the past to ensure secrecy in important communication especially in military and diplomatic sectors. The different algorithm used in cryptography techniques will be highlighted and one of the applications would be presented using a Object Oriented programming language (OOP) to implement.

Part 1: Cryptography and Cryptanalysis ; International audience ; Malleable signatures allow the signer to control alterations to a signed document. The signer limits alterations to certain parties and to certain parts defined during signature generation. Admissible alterations do not invalidate the signature and do not involve the signer. These properties make them a versatile tool for several application domains, like e-business and health care. We implemented one secure redactable and three secure sanitizable signature schemes on secure, but computationally bounded, smart card. This allows for a secure and practically usable key management and meets legal standards of EU legislation. To gain speed we securely divided the computing tasks between the powerful host and the card; and we devise a new accumulator to yield a useable redactable scheme. The performance analysis of the four schemes shows only a small performance hit by the use of an off-the-shelf card.

Before computers, military tacticians and government agents had to rely on pencil-and-paper methods to encrypt information. For agents that want to use low-tech options in order to minimize their digital footprint, non-computerized ciphers are an essential component of their toolbox. Still, the presence of computers limits the pool of effective hand ciphers. If a cipher is not unpredictable enough, then a computer will easily be able to break it. There are 52! ≈ 2^225.58 ways to mix a deck of cards. If each deck order is a key, this means that there are 52! ≈ 2^225.58 different ways to encrypt a given message. To create some perspective, most computer ciphers feature either 2^128 or 2^256 different ways of encrypting the same message. Hence, a cipher created from a deck of cards has the potential to emulate the security of many computer ciphers. Dr. Landquist and I spent the summer of 2019 examining existing playing card ciphers. This led to the main focus of this paper: the creation of a unique, secure playing card cipher. Because of the inspiration provided by the cipher VIC, I am calling our original cipher VICCard. VICCard has gone through multiple versions, each better than the last. Its security is rooted in its combination of numerous cryptographic principles, including a substitution checkerboard, columnar transpositions, lagged Fibonacci generators, and junk letters. As evidenced by certain randomness tests, VICCard has the potential to extensively randomize an English plaintext.

International data encryption algorithm (IDEA) is a secret key or symmetric key block cipher. The purpose of IDEA was to replace data encryption standard (DES) cipher, which became practically insecure due to its small key size of 56 bits and increase in computational power of systems. IDEA cipher mainly to provide data confidentiality in variety of applications such as commercial and financial application e.g. pretty good privacy (PGP) protocol. Till 2015, no successful linear or algebraic weaknesses IDEA of have been reported. In this paper, author explained IDEA cipher, its application in PGP and did a systematic survey of various attacks attempted on IDEA cipher. The best cryptanalysis result which applied to all keys could break IDEA up to 6 rounds out of 8.5 rounds of the full IDEA cipher1. But the attack requires 264 known plaintexts and 2126.8 operations for reduced round version. This attack is practically not feasible due to above mention mammoth data and time requirements. So IDEA cipher is still completely secure for practical usage. PGP v2.0 uses IDEA cipher in place of BassOmatic which was found to be insecure for providing data confidentiality.
