Las cárceles latinoamericanas se caracterizan, por elevados grados de hacinamiento y violencia institucional, así como por albergar a una mayoría de sujetos jóvenes provenientes de contextos de pobreza y vulnerabilidad.
Así mismo, el encarcelamiento afecta la salud mental de estas personas, producto de la violencia cotidiana, la falta de privacidad, distancia con la familia y el ocio obligado, siendo el consumo de drogas una manera de aliviar ese sufrimiento.
No obstante, los efectos del encarcelamiento en la salud mental no han sido suficientemente abordados, en parte porque la función de la psicología en estos contextos se ha visto sofocada por la exigencia de contribuir a los procesos de resocialización de la población presa Esta resocialización, cuando no son ofrecidas condiciones de estudio, formación laboral y posibilidades de inserción social futura, se transforma en un imperativo vacío, una ficción necesaria para la continuidad de este tipo de instituciones.
Este texto, a manera de ensayo, intenta mostrar las tensiones y contradicciones entre esos objetivos de resocialización que la cárcel impone y una perspectiva de salud mental que dimensione formas de relación solidarias y amplias, tomando como referencia para esto una experiencia de intervención realizada en la cárcel de Villahermosa de Cali, Colombia.

AbstractWe investigate the link between abnormal CEO compensation and firm performance, asking whether high unexplained compensation relative to several benchmarks is a sign of hard‐to‐measure but desirable executive attributes or is instead a symptom of unsolved agency problems. We find that abnormally high CEO pay predicts worse future firm performance. Abnormally high compensation that is performance‐contingent is a less ominous signal about the future success of the firm. But abnormal levels of even performance‐contingent compensation predict worse future performance. We conclude that abnormally high CEO pay can be useful as an independent indicator of agency problems.

Highly sodium deficient Na0.6NbO3 (NN) ceramics were prepared and characterized. Their mean structure could be described by a mixture of the predominant P polymorph (S.G. Pbma) and the Q phase (S.G. P2(1)ma), at room temperature, as deduced from Rietveld refinements of Powder X-ray diffraction and Raman scattering data. Besides, microstructural and compositional heterogeneity was evidenced from HRTEM and XPS analyses. Dielectric measurements on this highly vacancies-containing NN material indicated a hysteretic transition taking place at similar to 12 and -18 degrees C on the heating and cooling regimes, respectively. This means a considerable shift to lower temperatures of the transition temperatures concerning the P/Q transformations previously described for the NaNbO3 material. At an intermediate frequency of 10 kHz, maximum permittivity and tangent loss values of epsilon' = 1250 and tg delta = 2 were obtained on heating, whereas lower values of epsilon' = 65 and tg delta = 0.04 were displayed on cooling regime. These anomalies were interpreted in terms of ferrolectric-antiferroelectric-paralectric phase-transitions implying a PTCR behavior within certain temperature range.
