Letter from John R. Finn to James G. Finn, 30 January 1945
John Finn writes from France to his father, James G. Finn, in St. Albans, Vermont, on 30 January 1945; he is getting his back mail and comments on the cold and lack of electric lights in the area. He asks for news from St. Albans and that his father send food, socks, hankies, and cigarettes. ; John R. Finn's education at Norwich University was interrupted by World War II. During the war, he served in the 8th Armored Division of the U. S. Army in the European Theater and was awarded the Purple Heart after receiving a hand wound.
