Letter from John R. Finn to James G. Finn, 1 January [1945?]
Abstract
John Finn writes from England to his father, James G. Finn, in St. Albans, Vermont on 1 January 1945; he received Fille's package and doesn't have much news to report. He describes a pair of horses he saw recently and wishes everyone the best in 1945. The letter is dated 1 January 1944 but was probably written in 1945. ; John R. Finn's education at Norwich University was interrupted by World War II. During the war, he served in the 8th Armored Division of the U. S. Army in the European Theater and was awarded the Purple Heart after receiving a hand wound. He returned to Norwich University after the war and graduated with a BA degree in English in 1946.
