Abstract : Maternal And Child Health-Book, Women's Knowledge, Postnatal Visit. In 2015, the national coverage of postnatal visit only reached 87.06% of the target 95%. The mother's and child's health book (MCH book) contains comprehensive medical records and information, including postpartum care. If the KIA's book material is read and understood by the mother, her knowledge will increasing, so we can expect her to be willing to do the postpartum visit according to the government's program. This research aimed to learn about the correlation between postnatal woman's knowledge on postnatal services and her postnatal visit regularity. Design used was correlational study with cross sectional approach. The population was all post-natal women who have MCH book at a private midwife practice in May - June 2017 of total 35 women. Samples taken by simple random technique. Data collection tool used was questionnaire and MCH book. The result showed that a small amount of respondents with good knowledge about postnatal care (28,1%) done postpartum visit in accordance with the government's program. Women with less knowledge level (18,8%), few of them (3.1%) made postnatal visits in accordance with the program. Chi-square analysis obtained ρ value (0.001) that means less than a (0,05), so the null hypothesis rejected. Hence, there was correlation between postnatal woman's knowledge on postnatal services and her postnatal visit regularity. The results of the study said that most of the well-informed women about postnatal services will do postpartum visits according to government programs. Postpartum women need to be motivated to read postpartum care materials in maternal and child health-book.

Globalization is the growing integration of economies and societies around the world. It is the process of interaction and integration among people, companies, and governments from different countries through international trade and investment. It allows a country to perform international trade and business to enjoy the expansion of market and trade links between various countries around the globe. The key issue for a local company in penetrating and enjoying maximum revenue in a host country is identified as studying the differences in political, economic, cultural, and business ethics between the home and host countries. The world consists of various dimensions of differences, and it is the organizations responsibility to identify and understand them and match them with its vision. This paper outlines a systematic planning methodology for helping local businesses, which in some way have the potential to grow in the international market but feel insecure regarding the risks and threats involved, to grow globally, and will further create a sense of motivation and ambition. In here, we try to solve their issues using a systematic procedure by passing through six steps (orientation and collect key data, clarify vision, clarify environment and relate to vision, develop penetration plans, evaluate and accept the best plan, implementation) and considering three fundamentals (vision, environmental analysis, and penetration strategy) to further enhance their horizons with the relevant knowledge. Our main objective here is to boost the confidence of the local companies by introducing a systematic planning tool that they can use which helps them to give the chance to become global and compete in the international market.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the mobile activities newly arrived migrants are engaged in when learning the Swedish language and about Swedish culture and society. Further, the study also explores the use of a mobile application (app) provided to the newly arrived migrants to use for pronunciation practice. The study involved 38 newly arrived Arabic speaking migrants participating in an introduction program of the Swedish language and Swedish culture provided by the Swedish government. The participants were divided into two groups: a control group who received training according to the traditional introduction programme and an experimental group who used a mobile app for pronunciation training as a complement to the programme. We applied a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods for data collection and analysis. The participants were interviewed about their use of mobile phones as well as recorded in a number of activities inside and outside the classroom to compare their language evolvement. In addition, surveys, logging of weekly mobile activities and observations were performed.The results show that the participants used a wide range of different mobile tools, both inside and outside the classroom. However, they used the mobiles mostly for communication with their family and friends rather than for communication with Swedes and learning Swedish. Further, compared to the control group, the experimental group showed an improved speech tempo and self-confidence in speaking. The study thus indicates that focused linguistic training with a pronunciation app is useful for developing spoken language skills, which can lead to improved integration. The participants expressed need and interest in having more mobile apps for both language and culture training.

A variety of factors influence the degree to which national interest groups decide to transfer their competencies from national political arenas to the European Union level. Aiming to explain these differences the article proposes and tests several hypotheses, relating to groups' organizational properties as well as their relationship with national authorities and opposing interest organizations. The empirical analysis is based on original survey of Lithuanian interest groups operating at a national level, carried out in 2016. The data reveals that organization's decision to allocate more time to supranational level is very much based on its perceived relative power in the national interest group system. Europeanisation of Lithuanian interest groups is also highly dependent on its financial resources, policy field in which the group operates as well as membership in international or EU level organizations. Whereas group type and group's domestic embeddedness, that is its relationships with national authorities, has no effect on Europeanising. Many reasons have boosted the demand for Arabic-Spanish Simultaneous Interpreting (SI), among others the political and economic interdependence and the social and cultural relations between the Arab and the Spanish-speaking world, as well as the growing interest in the contemporary Arabic world for strategic and geopolitical reasons. Meetings and multilateral conferences have proliferated from the second half of the twentieth century. In addition, Arabic and Spanish are official languages at international organizations like the United Nations or the African Union, and they are present in the private international market of SI. However, research on the quality of Spanish-Arabic interpreting (AR-SP) remains limited, raising numerous questions on the evaluation and quality control of a profession that enables communication in an increasingly globalized world. This article, which is part of a wider study analyzing how users of interpreting services evaluate AR-SP SI, focuses on the analysis of two parameters: correct transmission and complete transmission of the Original Speech (OS). For this purpose, we have carried out an empirical study using a questionnaire to survey 25 users of interpreting services, asking them to observe and evaluate AR-SP SI over the course of a 30 minute conference. The data obtained reveals that the users are aware of the concept of quality regards interpreting and, despite not having access to the OS, form an opinion on interpreters and their work. Ultimately, in this article we investigate the elements that influence how users of interpreting services evaluate AR-SP interpreting and the consequences these elements have on the work of the interpreter.

The research examines the system of strategic and territorial planning of St. Petersburg focusing on Lomonosov (Oranienbaum) as its case study. The study provides the analysis of the planning documentation developed for the city in the post-Soviet period. In particular, it elaborates on the currently enforced Strategy of Economic and Social Development of St. Petersburg-2030 (2014) and the City General Plan (2005), discussing the aspects of their development and implementation, as well as complex interrelation. Thereby, peculiarities of the spatial development of the St. Petersburg agglomeration are also investigated, elaborating on the state policy on agglomerations, historic development of St. Petersburg and relations with the Leningrad Region, governance and imbalances of the St. Petersburg spatial development, including proposed development scenarios. Consequently, the study employs a highly indicative case of the Lomonosov town municipal unit aiming to illustrate the practical implementation of administrative, territorial and strategic policies in a given context within a system of the state planning adopted in St. Petersburg, in particular, taking into consideration recently proclaimed necessity for the transition to a polycentric city model following an innovative scenario for the socioeconomic and spatial development. In particular, Lomonosov (Oranienbaum) is explored egarding its current socio-economic situation and development scenarios: industrial site and cultural tourism. The Oranienbaum museum and nature-reserve is also thoroughly assessed with regard to its cultural tourism potential. Finally, the urban environment of Lomonosov (Oranienbaum) is comprehensively scrutinized in terms of its historic development, residential housing typology, UNESCO World Heritage preservation and local urban heritage. In conclusion, the data on Lomonosov present in the St. Petersburg strategic and territorial planning documents is provided.

Western economies increasingly promote extended formal labour force engagement across the lifespan. Older workers – persons aged 50 and older – are induced to continue working through policy changes such as increasing age thresholds for pension eligibility or financial penalties for early workforce exit. Such measures presume people's abilities to choose to continue working, but barriers to sustainable, secure employment disproportionately impact older workers. Front-line support service providers who assist out-of-work older workers must negotiate contemporary individualizing policies and discourses while recognizing their collective experience of difficulty within the labour market. In this presentation, we draw on data from a collaborative ethnographic study that uses governmentality, street-level bureaucracy, and critical occupational science as theoretical frames to understand long-term unemployment in Canada and the United States. Through a critical discourse analysis of qualitative interviews, participant observation field notes, and focus group interviews with 22 front-line service providers, we attend to how service providers negotiated conflicting discursive positions: despite positioning older workers as an 'at risk' group, service providers located barriers to employment in individual characteristics such as workers' attitudes, expectations, or skills. Moreover, service providers proposed activation-based, individualized strategies – such as crafting age-neutral resumes or enhancing computer literacy – as solutions to older workers' joblessness. As such, dominant discourses aligned with neoliberal individualizing and activating strategies set limits on attention to ageism and other systemic barriers collectively faced by aging workers within service provision practices, bounding how later life long-term unemployment is addressed and inadvertently contributing to precarity.

Identifying vulnerable individuals prone to develop post-traumatic stress symptoms (PTSS) is of paramount importance, especially in populations at high risk for stress exposure such as combat soldiers. While several neural and psychological risk factors are known, no post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) biomarker has yet progressed to clinical use. Here we present novel and clinically applicable anger-related neurobehavioral risk markers for military-related PTSS in a large cohort of Israeli soldiers. The psychological, electrophysiological and neural (Simultaneous recording of scalp electroencephalography [EEG] and functional magnetic resonance imaging [fMRI]) reaction to an anger-inducing film were measured prior to advanced military training and PTSS were recorded at 1-year follow-up. Limbic modulation was measured using a novel approach that monitors amygdala modulation using fMRI-inspired EEG, hereafter termed amygdala electrical fingerprint (amyg-EFP). Inter-subject correlation (ISC) analysis on fMRI data indicated that during movie viewing participants' brain activity was synchronized in limbic regions including the amygdala. Self-reported state-anger and amyg-EFP modulation successfully predicted PTSS levels. State-anger significantly accounted for 20% of the variance in PTSS, and amyg-EFP signal modulation significantly accounted for additional 15% of the variance. Our study was limited by the moderate PTSS levels and lack of systematic baseline symptoms assessment. These results suggest that pre-stress neurobehavioral measures of anger may predict risk for later PTSS, pointing to anger-related vulnerability factors that can be measured efficiently and at a low cost before stress exposure. Possible mechanisms underlying the association between the anger response and risk for PTSS are discussed.

Scholarship on newborn screening, dried bloodspot retention, and large population biobanking call consistently for improved public engagement. Communication with participants likely occurs only in the context of collection, consent, or notification, if at all. We ran an 11-week advertising campaign to inform Michigan Facebook users unlikely to know that their or their children's dried bloodspots (DBSs) were stored in a state biobank. We investigated the pattern and content of comments posted during the campaign, focusing on users' questions, attitudes and concerns, and the role the moderator played in addressing them. We used Facebook data to quantitatively assess engagement and employed conventional content analysis to investigate themes, attitudes, and social dynamics among user and moderator comments. Five ad sets elicited comments during campaign weeks 4–8, reaching ∼800,000 Facebook users ($6000). Gravitating around broad, underlying ethical, legal, and social issues, 180 posts from 129 unique users related to newborn screening or biobanking. Thirty six conveyed negative attitudes and 33 conveyed positive attitudes; 53 posed questions. The most prevalent themes identified were consent, privacy, bloodspot use, identifiability, inclusion criteria, research benefits, (mis)trust, genetics, DBS destruction, awareness, and the role of government. The moderator's 81 posts were responsive—answering questions, correcting or clarifying information, or providing information about opting out. Facebook ad campaigns can improve engagement by pushing out relevant content and creating dynamic, responsive, visible forums for discussion. Reduced control over messaging may be worth the trade-off for creating accessible, transparent, people-centered engagement on public health issues that are sensitive and complex.

The arrival of more than one million migrants, many of them refugees, has proved a major test for the European Union. Although international relief and monitoring agencies have been critical of makeshift camps in Calais and Eidomeni where infectious disease and overcrowding present major health risks, few have examined the nature of the official reception system and its impact on health delivery. Drawing upon research findings from an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) funded project, this article considers the physical and mental health of asylum–seekers in transit and analyses how the closure of borders has engendered health risks for populations in recognised reception centres in Sicily and in Greece. Data gathered by means of a survey administered in Greece (300) and in Sicily (400), and complemented by in-depth interviews with migrants (45) and key informants (50) including representatives of government offices, humanitarian and relief agencies, NGOs and activist organisations, are presented to offer an analysis of the reception systems in the two frontline states. We note that medical provision varies significantly from one centre to another and that centre managers play a critical role in the transmission of vital information. A key finding is that, given such disparity, the criteria used by the UNHCR to grade health services reception do not address the substantive issue that prevent refugees from accessing health services, even when provided on site. Health provision is not as recorded in UNHCR reporting but rather there are critical gaps between provision, awareness, and access for refugees in reception systems in Sicily and in Greece. This article concludes that there is a great need for more information campaigns to direct refugees to essential services.

BACKGROUND: In many cancers, racial and socioeconomic disparities exist regarding the extent of surgery. For ovarian dysgerminoma, fertility-sparing (FS) surgery is recommended whenever possible. The aim of this study was to investigate rates of FS versus non-fertility sparing (NFS) procedures for Stage I ovarian dysgerminoma in adolescents and young adults (AYAs) by ethnicity/race and socioeconomic status. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The National Cancer Data Base was queried for patients with ovarian dysgerminoma from 1998-2012. After selecting patients aged 15-39 years with Stage I disease, a multivariate regression analysis was performed and rates of FS and NFS procedures were compared, first according to ethnicity/race, and then by socioeconomic surrogate variables. RESULTS: Amongst the 687 AYAs with Stage I ovarian dysgerminoma, there was no significant difference in rates of FS and NFS procedures based on ethnicity/race alone (p=0.17), but there was a significant difference in procedure type for all three socioeconomic surrogates. The uninsured had higher NFS rates (30%) than those with government (21%) or private (19%) insurance (p=0.036). Those in the poorest ZIP codes had almost twice the rate of NFS procedures (31%) compared with the most affluent ZIP codes (17%). For those in the least educated regions, 24% underwent NFS procedures compared to 14% in the most educated areas (p=0.027). CONCLUSIONS: AYAs with Stage I ovarian dysgerminoma in lower socioeconomic groups were more likely to undergo NFS procedures than those in higher socioeconomic groups, but there was no difference in rates of FS vs. NFS procedures by ethnicity/race. Approaches aimed at reducing socioeconomic disparities require further examination.

The effectiveness of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) systems is contingent on a number of control mechanisms: procedural; judicial; evaluative; public and government agency; professional; and development aid agency. If we assume that procedural and judicial controls are guaranteed in developed EIA systems, then progressing effectiveness towards an acceptable level depends on improving the performance of other control mechanisms over time. These other control mechanisms are either absent, or are typically centrally controlled, requiring public finances; this we argue is an unpopular model in times of greater Government austerity. Here we evaluate a market-based mechanism for improving the performance of evaluative and professional control mechanisms, the UK Institute of Environmental Management and Assessments' EIA Quality Mark. We do this by defining dimensions of effectiveness for the purposes of our evaluation, and by identifying international examples of the approaches taken to delivering the other control measures to validate the approach taken in the EIA Quality Mark. We then evaluate the EIA Quality Mark, when used in combination with legal procedures and an active judiciary, against the effectiveness dimensions and use time-series analysis of registrant data to examine its ability to progress practice. We conclude that the EIA Quality Mark has merit as a model for a market-based mechanism, and may prove a more financially palatable approach for delivering effective EIA in mature systems in countries that lack centralised agency oversight. It may, therefore, be of particular interest to some Member States of the European Union for ensuring forthcoming certification requirements stemming from recent amendments to the EIA Directive

Purpose Research has demonstrated that governance of disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change adaptation (CCA) have evolved largely in isolation from each other – through different conceptual and institutional frameworks, response strategies and plans, at both international, national and subnational levels. As a result, the management of disaster risk through DRR and CCA is highly fragmented. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the set of actors and their location in government that create and shape governance in DRR and CCA integration within the Southern African Development Community (SADC) member states. Design/methodology/approach The study draws upon a range of data collection techniques including a comprehensive literature review relating to DRR and CCA in general and in the SADC member states, face-to-face interviews and an online survey. A mixed method research design was applied to the study with a total of 35 respondents from Botswana, Madagascar, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe participating in the face-to-face interviews and an online survey. Findings The analysis shows that DRR and CCA are carried out by different departments, agencies and/or ministries in all but three SADC member states, namely, Mozambique, Mauritius and the Seychelles. Participants were able to highlight the different ways in which integration should unfold. In light of this, the paper proposes a normative model to integrate government organisations for DRR and CCA within SADC member states. Originality/value The implementation of the model has the potential to accelerate the integration of organisations for DRR and CCA, with the resultant improvement in the implementation of risk reduction strategies and efficient use of resources

Background: The role of health communication in vaccination programmes cannot be overemphasized: it has contributed significantly to creating and sustaining demand for vaccination services and improving vaccination coverage. In Nigeria, numerous communication approaches have been deployed but these interventions are not without challenges. We therefore aimed to explore factors affecting the delivery of vaccination communication in Nigeria. Methods: We used a qualitative approach and conducted the study in two states: Bauchi and Cross River States in northern and southern Nigeria respectively. We identified factors affecting the implementation of communication interventions through interviews with relevant stakeholders involved in vaccination communication in the health services. We also reviewed relevant documents. Data generated were transcribed verbatim and analysed using thematic analysis. Results: We used the SURE framework to organise the identified factors (barriers and facilitators) affecting vaccination communication delivery. We then grouped these into health systems and community level factors. Some of the commonly reported health system barriers amongst stakeholders interviewed included: funding constraints, human resource factors (health worker shortages, training deficiencies, poor attitude of health workers and vaccination teams), inadequate infrastructure and equipment and weak political will. Community level factors included the attitudes of community stakeholders and of parents and caregivers. We also identified factors that appeared to facilitate communication activities. These included political support, engagement of traditional and religious institutions and the use of organised communication committees. Conclusions: Communication activities are a crucial element of immunization programmes. It is therefore important for policy makers and programme managers to understand the barriers and facilitators affecting the delivery of vaccination communication so as to be able to implement communication interventions more effectively.
