Public enterprise in India

Abstract

After providing a short profile of public enterprise sector, the article deals, inter alia, with reasons for the rapid growth of this sector, central versus state government owned public enterprises, reasons for poor performance of the public enterprise sector. Some solutions to the problem of poor performance of this sector are suggested. (DÜI-Sen)
