Letter from J. Cowling to Alden Partridge, 31 May 1828
Abstract
The writer is sorry to hear their son is not applying himself to his studies; encloses money for their son's expenses; please tell their son to write home at least once a month. The letter appears to have been written by another writer after the death of the father of Alfred B. Cowling, tentatively identified John G. Cowling (1781-1828); may have been written by Alfred Cowling's mother, tentatively identified as Louisa Cowling (1784-1863). ; Transcription by Raymond Bouchard.
