El presente artículo analiza el uso de sustancias de doping en el deporte de alto rendimiento, en el contexto de la antigua República Democrática Alemana entre os años 1950 y 1976, con el propósito de servir a los intereses políticos del estado y la estructura organizativa que se estableció para poder mantener en secreto los métodos y sistemas de entrenamiento que se empleaban para la consecución de esos éxitos en la alta competición. --- The present article analyzes the use of substances of doping in high performance sport, in the context of the old German Democratic Republic between 1950 and 1976 and in order to serve the political interests of the state and the organizational structure that settled down to be able to keep in secret the training methods and systems used for the attainment of great successes in high competition.

Der Aufsatz befaßt sich mit drei Fragestellungen zum Thema Olympische Spiele: (1) Ökonomische Aspekte des "Marktproduktes Olympismus"; (2) Es wird die These entwickelt, daß die Olympischen Spiele heute alle Erscheinungen der Postmoderne aufweisen, da die Entdifferenzierung so weit fortgeschritten ist, daß bei der durch die Medien inszenierten Feier der Spiele nicht mehr zwischen den Teilnehmern und den Zuschauern unterschieden werden kann; (3) Die Verknüpfung des wirtschaftlichen Verständnisses und der kulturellen Identität der Spiele führt zu der Frage, ob es in der Geschichte einen Paradigmenwechsel gegeben hat. Der Autor kommt zu dem Ergebnis, daß man die Olympischen Spiele heute nur dann kritisch analysieren kann, wenn man dies "aus dem Blickwinkel Coubertins selbst" tut. Die postmodernen Formen sind spätestens mit den Spielen von 1908 durchgesetzt worden. (pra)
