Objective: investigating the effect of the burnout syndrome (SB) on the quality of life of nurses working in primary care in the city of João Pessoa. Method: an exploratory study of quantitative approach conducted with 45 nurses of primary health care. Data were collected in May and June 2013, using questionnaires, after approval by the Ethics Research Committee, CAAE No. 15506913.1.0000.5188. The data were calculated and analyzed with descriptive statistics. Results: the results showed that 5 (11,1%) nurses have symptoms of burnout, while 7 (15,5%) are at high risk for developing the syndrome. Conclusion: in this study it can be concluded that the symptoms of SB are present in the nurses of primary care; being emotional exhaustion the landmark to its development.

This is an integrative review of the literature that aimed to characterize the scientific production of the last ten years of management and management of nursing care in primary care and describe the practice of this management. The search of the material took place in May and June 2014 in the databases SCIELO, LACHC, and MEDLINE NDB considering the terms: Management; care management; Health Management; Nursing and Primary Health Care, so that 16 articles were included in the sample selected. The characterization of the studies pointed out the year 2010 with the largest quantity of sample publications; the Cuban Journal of Enfermería was the one that got more than one publication; 10 studies are presented in Portuguese, three in English and three in Spanish. Three themes were highlighted for discussion: management practice and management of nursing care in Primary Care; Skills and nursing skills; and Challenges faced. We emphasize the importance of managerial activities of the nursing organization and qualification of care and transformation of health in primary care, demonstrating is necessary to build quality indicators; democratization of organizational behavior; systematization of assistance; best training and continuing education of professionals.

Objective: Gauge the sound pressure and temperature levels emitted by the equipment of the drying and sterilization rooms of the Material and Sterilization Center and compare them with the current legislation. Method: It is an experimental study with a quantitative approach, implemented in a school hospital in Joao Pessoa-PB. The data were obtained by a sound pressure meter and a thermal stress meter in September 2016. Results and Discussion: The data evidenced high sound pressure levels, reaching a mean of 71.25 and 76.25 dB (A), in the drying and sterilization rooms respectively. The levels found do not exceed that recommended by NR15 (Regulatory Norm 15) which is 85dB(A), but NBR 10152/87 (Brazilian Norm 10152/87) indicates levels between 45 and 55 dB(A) for acoustic well-being. As for the temperature the measured mean ranged between 24.91 and 25.87 °C. Conclusion: The levels of sound pressure and temperatures found in the environment can cause physiopsychological changes in the professionals that works in this services.
