Abstract
Identifies important issues largely ignored in the debate on the Credit Default Swap (CDS) market, which includes a call for a clearinghouse to mitigate CDS risk, to challenge the consensus, which is seen as threatening fundamental market reforms without proper respect for basic economic issues. Further, these issues should be taken into account when designing a CDS clearinghouse. References. Adapted from the source document.
