Abstract
Cuba is facing grave problems as a consequence of the ongoing US blockade and the collapse of Soviet economic support. The country is desperate for foreign exchange and is looking to the tourist industry as a means to secure it. Cuba has outlawed prostitution and has no network of brothels or organised system of bar prostitution, so that prostitutes work autonomously. Profiles the prostitute and the sex tourist, and considers why Cuba should be attractive. Deplorably, Cuba has a great deal to offer the sex tourist today.
