Abstract

INDIA'S TRADITIONAL PREDOMINANCE IN SOUTH ASIA HAS CREATED TENSIONS BETWEEN IT AND ITS SMALLER, LESS POWERFUL NEIGHBORS. RECENTLY, HOWEVER,INDIA HAS SOUGHT TO BROADEN BOTH ITS ECONOMIC AND, TO AN EXTENT, ITS POLITICAL TIES WITH ITS NEIGHBORS. THIS ARTICLE DEMONSTRATES THAT THIS IS A TREND THAT WILL CONTINUE.
