"The book discusses the most pressing global challenges confronting America in the current international milieu. It has a detailed analysis of issues that have manifested since the launch of the war on terror. In particular, the book analyzes the problems and offers solutions on pressing topics such as conducting the war on terror in Afghanistan and Iraq, resolving the Arab-Israeli dispute, forging better relations with the Muslim World, resetting relations with Russia, dealing with Iran's nuclear ambitions, confronting global warming and climate change, and strengthening the United Nations. The author strikes a hopeful and optimistic note that President Obama, with his credentials and international popularity, is well placed to usher in an era of multilateralism in resolving these myriad problems, in cooperation with other nations. Certain policy options have been suggested to arrest and bridge the widening (mis)-perceptions about America so that it reestablishes its pre-eminence"--
