Abstract

In this article the author inquires why Saddam Hussein is still in power in Iraq after its defeat in the Gulf War, the West's support for Iraq, especially since 1986, in its war against Iran, Saddam's character and how he rules Iraq, uprising of the Iraqi Kurds and the U.S. and British interests to keep Iraq as a single state.
