The author of this book was Group Managing Director and Chief Executive of "Zimbabwe Newspapers Limited" for several years. Since October 1989, he has been Group Managing Director of "Modus Publications", publishers of "The Financial Gazette" and several technical and specialized magazines. The general thesis of his book is that the mass media are part of society and the nature of the mass media is dependent on the politics of that country
