THE INTERNET AS A MEANS OF POLITICAL COMMUNICATION

Abstract
The relevance of the research is due to the need to understand the role and importance of the Internet in providing political communications in modern Russia. Political actors, in order to intensify and improve the quality of their activities, turn to various channels of communication with society. Along with traditional media, they are increasingly using the capabilities of the global network, which has become an integral part of modern life. Based on various approaches, the article analyzes the place and role of Internet technologies in the sphere of political and power relations, studies the problems of effective use of the Internet space for political purposes, identifies and characterizes various forms of political communication on the Web, identifies key features of communications in the Internet space, argues the advantages of political Internet communication over traditional types of media, identifies and analyzes the system-forming features of the Internet that contribute to the formation of political images in the global network. The methodological basis of the article is the theoretical developments of both Russian and foreign researchers. The work uses general philosophical and socio-humanitarian methods. The empirical data used in the work are taken from open sources.
