manuscrit d'auteur ; This paper examines the relevance, in a globalising era, of two notions often used by sociologists, economists, political analysts and politicians: social cohesion and social capital. It treats of this topic in four parts. 1. Domains of both of these notions; 2. Differences between them; 3. How and in what context are they used nowadays? 4. The dispute about their relevance. ; Cet article examine la pertinence de la notion de cohésion à l'ère de la mondialisation. Ce terme forgé par Durkeim est-il encore de mise alors que les collectifs de travail semblent se déliter ? Seule la sécuriation des parcours professionnels prise en charge par la puissance publique peut maintenir une cohésion mise à mal par la mondialisation.
