Paridad de género y ciudadanía política de las mujeres. El caso de Bolivia y Ecuador (2009)

Abstract

Este artículo describe el sistema de paridad de género establecido en las nuevas Constituciones Políticas de Bolivia (2009) y Ecuador (2008). Se presenta un análisis sobre la interacción resultante entre los avances normativos y ciertas prácticas emergentes del sistema político que obstruyen el ejercicio de la ciudadanía política de las mujeres. Abstract: Recent constitutional reforms in Bolivia (2009) and Ecuador (2008) established a system of gender parity as a method of supporting women's representation in list of legislative candidates. However, women in both countries running for public office are victims of violence and political harassment. The aim of this paper is analysis interaction between achieved rules and some practices that obstruct women's political citizenship.
