FID Network

The FID Network connects the specialized information services (FID) in Germany and promotes interdisciplinary exchange. The FID Political Science – Pollux regularly participates in network events and maintains close contact with other FID, such as the FID Sociology, FID Media, and FID Pharmazie. In addition, the FID Political Science is a member of the FID network REWISO+. The exchange of experiences, as well as the shared use and further development of existing tools and resources, creates valuable synergies and new opportunities for collaboration.

Subject Librarians at Academic Libraries

Subject librarians are subject-specific experts at academic libraries. Their responsibilities include among others selecting literature, subject cataloging as well as providing subject-specific advice and teaching information literacy. For us, they are key advocates for our services. Their expertise also contributes to the ongoing development of our services. Together with the FID Sociology, we have established various formats for exchange with subject specialists in sociology and political science:

  • fachref_soz mailing list
  • "Fachreferatsarbeit SoWi" discussion group
  • Annual subject session at BiblioCon
  • VDB advanced training for subject specialists in sociology and political science (every 2 years)
