"We want to dare more Open Access! Ways, Models and Services for Political Science"

January 24, 2022 12:00 AM

Whether it is an essay, a book publication, or the publication of a dissertation - the possibilities for publishing in open access are as broad as political science itself. The workshop is intended to provide information on the ways in which one's own publications can be transferred to open access or made available online in a barrier-free, cost-free, and legally secure manner.

What does it mean, whether you are a professor or a junior researcher, to publish in Open Access? Which examples and offers provide points of orientation? What are the needs, reservations and wishes for support?

Together we will look at the ways of publishing, the opportunities, but also the challenges of the publication process. In two thematic blocks we would like to offer an opportunity for exchange for scientists and scholarly publishers in political science. Jun.-Prof. Arndt Leininger, Ph.D. (Political Science Research Methods, TU Chemnitz) and Dr. Philipp Schulz (Institute for Intercultural and International Studies, University of Bremen) will provide insights into their experiences with Open Access. Practical feasibility and support services will be presented as well as the opportunity to network.

Target group

The workshop is aimed at scholars and publishers in the field of political science. Previous experience in the field of Open Access is not required.
