Urban history is being actively explored today. A detailed study of urban location is not possible without taking into account its demographic and ethnic components. Historical dynamics and analysis in the context of the general social development of the region, taking into account all political, economic, cultural and spiritual factors are very important in reproducing the ethnodemographic processes of individual regions. Historical experience will give the opportunity to develop at the present stage such an ethnodemographic strategy and policy that takes into account the national-cultural interests of various ethnic and social groups. In this article, the number and ethno-national structure of the population of Drohobych during the 30 -50th years of the twentieth century is being observed, the factors influenced by the ethnodemographic processes in the city are revealed. It is determined that the studied period of population of Drohobych was due to complex socio-political, socio-economic, ethno-cultural, demographic tests. The city was influenced by various political-state systems. In the interwar period, Poles, Jews, and Ukrainians were the main ethnic groups in Drohobych. The transformation of the ethnic composition of the population of Drohobych, which began with the outbreak of the Second World War and the advent of Soviet power in September 1939, continued in post-war years. The city lost in its ethnic structure the former dominant, and not only numerically, national groups. The Ukrainian population grew. Along with that, the number of Russians increased, which was caused both by objective reasons and by the geopolitical plans of the regime. The end of the 50th of the twentieth century were marked by the restoration and growth of the city's population. However, an increase in the total population of Drohobych was not a qualitative reproduction of its ethno-national organism. ; У даній статті простежуються зміни чисельності населення Дрогобича протягом 30 – 50-х рр.
