This research paper intends to look at the significance of the government expenditures in various sectors, investment by the private sector, and current account conditions on the well-being of the citizens in Pakistan over the duration of 1972-2021, making use of the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) structure. This study additionally checks out disaggregated levels of government spending, with a particular concentration on the social sector (health and health as well as additional education), economic services, subsidies, as well as the maintenance of law and order. The research concern settled in this study is: Do the public sector's economic actions improve the financial condition of the society through the increase in per capita income and employment opportunities, or do they trigger misallocation of public sources as well as injury to eco wellbeing of the society? The study also analyzes the impact of changes in the structure of the federal government's investment in time in addition to determining quick- and durable outcomes for crucial macroeconomic variables. The empirical results reveal that all parts of federal government expenses have considerable long-run organizations with per capita income, a certain welfare variable, besides spending on law and order, which has an unfavorable, nonetheless statistically insignificant impact. In terms of job opportunities, the federal government's expenses on education and learning have a considerable long-term favorable impact on employment. Nonetheless, expenditures on health have a significant unfavorable impact on employment. Different various other parts of federal government expenses did not substantially support employment. This study supplies valuable insights into the relationship between federal government costs and well-being in Pakistan. The browsing may give some requirements for focusing on the allowance of development in addition to the non-development budget to improve the welfare of Pakistani people.

Swiss citizens continue to enjoy high living standards on a range of dimensions. Economic growth has slowed but the healthy labour market is still supporting incomes and consumption. However, risks to the outlook are building. Monetary policy has been very accommodative but low interest rates are adding to financial risks. Fiscal policy is sound and debt low. There is scope to make greater use of available fiscal space. Adapting to population ageing is becoming pressing. This trend, along with digital transformation, will bring new opportunities for the economy and society, but challenges as well. Policies have not kept up with rising life expectancy, particularly the statutory retirement age. Updating the pension system and lowering barriers to working longer would ensure that workers continue to receive adequate incomes during retirement.

AbstractThis work splits effective unemployment into two components: natural unemployment, and cyclical unemployment. For that purpose, an estimation of the stochastic cost frontier is performed. The study is focused on the 17 autonomous communities in Spain over the period 1982–2012. Results evidence greater importance of the natural component as the principal determinant of effective unemployment. When comparing these results with those obtained applying univariate filters, the distribution in the components of the effective unemployment changes, increasing the importance of cyclical unemployment. This result indicates that the policymakers should have a greater power to implement aggregate demand policies.

Because the development of effective parenting coordination depends upon a sound relationship with the court, this study examined attitudes and expectations toward the parenting coordination process held by judiciary members, attorneys, and parenting coordinators. Respondents from the 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida reported anonymously on background demographics and prior personal experience with and attitudes toward the process. Overall, respondents reported favorable views toward parenting coordination; analyses also provided initial insights into potential interdisciplinary differences in views among members of the three important constituencies. Results may be helpful in informing training processes, shaping conversations about legislation, and guiding the administration of parenting coordination through court programs.

ABSTRACT Purpose: To analyze how small and medium enterprises (SMEs) coordinate collaborative research and development (R&D) projects through an open innovation strategy. Originality/value: This research was motivated by a theoretical gap in the management of collaborative R&D projects in open innovation strategies. The originality of the paper is to advance the understanding of coordination mechanisms that SMEs can use to manage open innovation and obtain more effective results. Design/methodology/approach: The research followed a qualitative approach, through three case studies of collaborative projects. Data were collected by means of in-depth interviews with eleven managers directly involved in collaborative R&D projects. Findings: Results demonstrate that the use of coordination mechanisms depends on the applicability of each project's results, i.e., the higher the chances of a certain R&D project becoming a real product, the higher the importance given to the coordination mechanisms. On the cases observed, the coordination mechanisms were defined by the enterprise, not by external partners. In addition, it was observed that open innovation projects that the enterprise seeks for external knowledge to complement internal resources (outside-in) were considered more important than transferring internal knowledge to external partners (inside-out). The paper contributes to organizational theory by highlighting the relation between the characteristics of collaborative R&D projects and the coordination mechanisms used. Regarding the managerial contribution, results serve as a guide for entrepreneurs and managers of SMEs interested in coordinating collaborative projects based on open innovation processes.
