Educar en valores y dotar de competencias a los alumnos de Educación Primaria es un deber educativo irrenunciable. El objetivo de este trabajo es crear un programa de trasmisión de valores y adquisición de competencias a través del teatro. El fin será facilitar a maestros y tutores poder introducir y desarrollar trasversalmente los valores y competencias propuestos en la legislación vigente con una actividad altamente motivadora y reconocida cada vez más dentro del campo de las metodologías activas. Para ello justificamos legal y teóricamente los aspectos que definen la educación en valores; buscamos argumentos y evidencias que justifiquen la utilización del teatro como herramienta de introducción a la enseñanza y aprendizaje de los valores; y desarrollamos una propuesta cuya implementación permita validar este género como herramienta altamente motivadora y aglutinadora de intereses de toda la comunidad educativa. En líneas generales se ha probado que este tipo de actividades hacen que los alumnos se sientan protagonistas, establezcan y cumplan unas normas y compromisos que ellos mismos establecen, y el clima de aula mejore. ; Active methodologies and project work: educate through the theater. Educating in values and providing primary school students with skills is an unavoidable educational duty. The aim of this paper is to créate a programme for the conveyance of values and the acquisition of skills through theatre. The purpose will be to help teachers and tutors to introduce and develop the values and competencies proposed in the current legislation with a highly motivating activity increasingly recognized within the field of active methodologies. For this reason, we legally and theoretically justify the elements that define the Education in values; seek arguments and evidence that justify the use of the theatre as an introductory tool to the value-based teaching and learning process; and prove that the theatre is a highly motivating and unifying tool for the entire educational community throughout the the development of a proposal. It is well-known that these compounds can undergo metabolic reactions before reaching therapeutic targets, which may also affect their bioactivity and possible applications. All recent studies that have focused on bioavailability and metabolism of phenolic and terpenoid compounds have been developed because of the advances in analytical chemistry and metabolomics approaches. The purpose of this review is to show the role of analytical chemistry and metabolomics in this field of knowledge. AbstractA major impact of human development is the transformation of natural habitats into farming lands and the expansion of built-up areas. Also, plastic pollution is affecting wildlife on a global scale. Discarded plastic is ubiquitous and accessible for birds, which can incorporate them into the nest structure. Here, we describe the differences in type, prevalence, and the amount of anthropogenic nest materials between two populations of terrestrial, mainly farmland bird, the white stork Ciconia ciconia, on a broad geographical scale, from two migratory divides—eastern in Poland and western in Spain (in total 303 nests). In the two populations, we detected significant differences in the incorporation of anthropogenic nest material, as measured by the Human Footprint Index (HFI) and the Impervious Surface Areas (ISA). We found that ISA was positively related to anthropogenic nest material incorporation in the Spanish population, and HFI was positively related to anthropogenic nest material, in contrast to the Polish population, in which the relationships were not significant. Moreover, we showed that the prevalence of nests with anthropogenic nest material was two times higher in Spanish than in the Polish white stork population. This study demonstrates that the behavior of incorporation of the anthropogenic nest material differs between two distinct populations of a single bird species.

However, these by-products have been reported to be rich in bioactive compounds (BACs) with excellent properties of interest in the cosmeceutical industry: antioxidant, anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and photoprotective properties. This review summarizes the tropical fruits most produced worldwide, their bioactive composition and the most important and studied therapeutic properties that their by-products can contribute to skin health, as well as the different approaches for obtaining these compounds using techniques by conventional (Soxhlet, liquid-liquid extraction or maceration) and non-conventional extractions (supercritical fluid extraction (SFE), ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE), microwave-assisted extraction (MAE), pressurized liquid extraction (PLE) and two-phase aqueous system), followed by their identification by HPLC-MS or GC-MS analysis. Moreover, this work encompasses several studies that may prove the effects of seeds and skins from tropical fruits against oxidative stress, hyperpigmentation, acne, aging or UV radiation. [Background]: The advances in high-throughput sequencing technologies are allowing more and more de novo assembling of transcriptomes from many new organisms. Some degree of automation and evaluation is required to warrant reproducibility, repetitivity and the selection of the best possible transcriptome. Workflows and pipelines are becoming an absolute requirement for such a purpose, but the issue of assembling evaluation for de novo transcriptomes in organisms lacking a sequenced genome remains unsolved. An automated, reproducible and flexible framework called TransFlow to accomplish this task is described. ; [Results]: TransFlow with its five independent modules was designed to build different workflows depending on the nature of the original reads. This architecture enables different combinations of Illumina and Roche/454 sequencing data, and can be extended to other sequencing platforms. Its capabilities are illustrated with the selection of reliable plant reference transcriptomes and the assembling six transcriptomes (three case studies for grapevine leaves, olive tree pollen, and chestnut stem, and other three for haustorium, epiphytic structures and their combination for the phytopathogenic fungus Podosphaera xanthii). Arabidopsis and poplar transcriptomes revealed to be the best references. A common result regarding de novo assemblies is that Illumina paired-end reads of 100 nt in length assembled with OASES can provide reliable transcriptomes, while the contribution of longer reads is noticeable only when they complement a set of short, single-reads. ; [Conclusions]:TransFlow can handle up to 181 different assembling strategies. Evaluation based on principal component analyses allows its self-adaptation to different sets of reads to provide a suitable transcriptome for each combination of reads and assemblers. As a result, each case study has its own behaviour, prioritises evaluation parameters, and gives an objective and automated way for detecting the best transcriptome within a pool of them. Esta publicación recopila cuatro trabajos realizados por alumnos de la asignatura Geopolítica del cuatro curso del grado en Geografía y Ordenación del Territorio. Se trata de analizar el papel de diversos organismos internacionales y de las relaciones bilaterales y su impacto en la sociedad. En concreto, se estudia la Organización Mundial del Comercio y los derechos de propiedad intelectual; la Organización Mundial de la Salud y la gestión de la gripe aviar; la Organización para la Alimentación y la Agricultura (FAO) con el derecho a la alimentación; y los acuerdos bilaterales firmados entre España y Estados Unidos.
Los colombianos hemos vivido en 2020 una de las experiencias más difíciles de nuestras vidas por cuenta de la pandemia del Covid19. Este año terminará con una contracción de la economía aproximada al 8%, más de 5 millones de empleos perdidos, la pobreza ampliando sus linderos en los hogares y una conflictividad social de alta tensión. Pero los colombianos queremos tener una mejor aproximación sobre lo que vendrá en 2021. Tenemos la esperanza de un 2021 con más oportunidades y corresponde al gobierno, a las autoridades, a los líderes, a los empresarios, generar confianza sobre lo que viene. Objectives Slaughterhouse staff is occupationally exposed to antimicrobial resistant bacteria. Studies reported high antimicrobial resistance gene (ARG) abundances in slaughter pigs. This cross-sectional study investigated occupational exposure to tetracycline (tetW) and macrolide (ermB) resistance genes and assessed determinants for faecal tetW and ermB carriage among pig slaughterhouse workers.
Methods During 2015–2016, 483 faecal samples and personal questionnaires were collected from workers in a Dutch pig abattoir, together with 60 pig faecal samples. Human dermal and respiratory exposure was assessed by examining 198 carcass, 326 gloves, and 33 air samples along the line, next to 198 packed pork chops to indicate potential consumer exposure. Samples were analyzed by qPCR (tetW, ermB). A job exposure matrix was created by calculating the percentage of tetW and ermB positive carcasses or gloves for each job position. Multiple linear regression models were used to link exposure to tetW and ermB carriage.
Results Workers are exposed to tetracycline and macrolide resistance genes along the slaughter line. Tetw and ermB gradients were found for carcasses, gloves, and air filters. One packed pork chop contained tetW, ermB was non-detectable. Human faecal tetW and ermB concentrations were lower than in pig faeces. Associations were found between occupational tetW exposure and human faecal tetW carriage, yet, not after model adjustments. Sampling round, nationality, and smoking were determinants for ARG carriage.
Conclusion We demonstrated clear environmental tetracycline and macrolide resistance gene exposure gradients along the slaughter line. No robust link was found between ARG exposure and human faecal ARG carriage.
