The study analyzes Psychological Trauma as a result of Corporal Punishment at Secondary Level. The population was all the students of 10th class which made a population of 30200 students in Tehsils of District Malakand of KPK. Sixteen secondary schools and twenty-six students from each school were taken as a sample by using a simple random method. The research instrument DASS 42 about corporal punishment used four options, i.e.at home, at school, both at home and school and neither at home nor at school. The questionnaire was administered to 416 students and 400 were received. The findings of the study were that a significant association of corporal punishment with psychological trauma i.e. depression, anxiety and stress was found. The students were corporally punished both at homes and schools had moderate or severe level of stress, anxiety and depression..

In the 1980s, there was a significant upsurge in diagnoses of Dissociative Identity Disorder. Ian Hacking suggests that the roots of this tendency lie in the excessive willingness of psychologists past and present to engage in the "psychologization of trauma." I argue that Hacking makes some philosophically problematic assumptions about the putative threat to human autonomy that is posed by the increasing availability, attractiveness, and plausibility of various forms of simulated experience. I also suggest how a different set of axiological and historical assumptions might have led to a less dismissive and possibly more plausible account of this diagnostic trend.

abstract: Greater cross-disciplinary collaboration between the fields of sustainability and clinical psychology could lead to improved outcomes for both. Moreover, some forms of mental disorder, such as PTSD and Moral Injury, constitute serious challenges that require the attention of sustainability's interdisciplinary, systems-focused, solutionsoriented approach. My research frames the impacts of combat-related psychological trauma on military veterans as a sustainability problem according to criteria put forward by Arnim Wiek's Transformational Problem Solving framework. I also provide a review of studies demonstrating the treatment benefits of agricultural therapy for veterans diagnosed with PTSD or symptoms associated with Moral Injury. I then describe my own efforts investigating the connection between trauma and sustainability using survey measurements, interviews, and participant observation onsite at Growing Veterans farm in Mt. Vernon, Washington. The results strongly suggest that sustainable agricultural can be of powerful clinical benefit to traumatized veterans and that sustainable behaviors and values in general increased as trauma symptoms decreased. More broadly, the project indicates that slight shifts in how we approach solution formulation and how we articulate and disseminate sustainability messages could have profound positive effects on the sustainability's success.

Abstract
This paper discusses the current approaches to psychological trauma risk management in the UK policing. It stresses the need for a concerted effort by senior management, supervisors, and occupational health in order to identify those at risk. Furthermore, to reduce the incidence of harm, provide protective training and education, and where necessary provide post trauma interventions and treatments (HSE, 2013). The evidence presented in this article supports the division of the policing workforce into three cohorts. Those being, responders, specialists, and those involved in major disasters. This is seen as the most effective approach to providing an appropriate level of trauma support for all those at risk of traumatic stress. Thus, making it easier to identify and manage the effects of psychological trauma on police officers and staff.

This transnational, interdisciplinary study of traumatic neurosis moves beyond the existing histories of medical theory, welfare, and symptomatology. The essays explore the personal traumas of soldiers and civilians in the wake of the First World War; they also discuss how memory and representations of trauma are transmitted between patients, doctors and families across generations. The book argues that so far the traumatic effects of the war have been substantially underestimated. Trauma was shaped by gender, politics, and personality. To uncover the varied forms of trauma ignored by medical and political authorities, this volume draws on diverse sources, such as family archives and narratives by children of traumatized men, documents from film and photography, memoirs by soldiers and civilians. This innovative study challenges us to re-examine our approach to the complex psychological effects of the First World War

Aims: The impact of war trauma on civilians may include, but also extend beyond, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to include complex sequelae such as those described by the syndrome of Disorders of Extreme Stress Not Otherwise Specified (DESNOS). Methods: In the present study, 102 civilian war victims were interviewed in Kosovo, assessing traumatic life events, PTSD, DESNOS, and depression. Results: Full DESNOS rarely occurred (2% prevalence), however, clinically significant DESNOS symptoms of somatization, altered relationships, and altered systems of meaning were reported by between 24—42% of respondents. Although DESNOS symptoms were correlated with PTSD symptoms, DESNOS symptoms were associated with poorer overall psychological functioning, self-evaluations, satisfaction with life, and social support independent of the effects of PTSD. Conclusion: The findings suggest that DESNOS warrants attention in addition to PTSD in the assessment and treatment of civilians who have been exposed to war and genocide.

As non-literary accounts of post-traumatic stress disorder victims depict, and contribute to, history and memory, the present study uses the theoretical underpinnings of the psychological trauma theory to reflect on the flashbacks of Afghan trauma survivors, portrayed in the selected Afghan Anglophone fiction. The research project attempts to see how far the flashbacks of the traumatic memories of these characters contribute to the oft-quoted factual history. Borrowing from Caruth, Herman, Tal and LaCapra for the analysis, the study investigates the selected literary text to see how cultural productions from this war-torn country keep a record of the traumatic memories of the war that the Afghans were faced with during the Soviet invasion from 1979 to 1989. This trauma analysis of Atiq Rahimi's Earth and Ashes (2002) shows that analyses of trauma-induced flashbacks in literary portrayals of traumatized characters may, simultaneously, contribute to the officially recorded history of the actual event of trauma. The study concludes that related literary texts may be studied in conjunction with factual historical documents to get a holistic picture of any traumatic event as well as the related memory.

The historian Samuel Hynes has observed that World War I was not only the greatest military and political event of its time but also the greatest imaginative event. Soldiers and civilians struggled to comprehend the war's devastation and the changes it produced while medical practitioners and artists examined the war as a site of extraordinary trauma. My project explores two of the many archives of trauma: the medical discourse through which trauma was defined; and representations of trauma in a variety of English language novels from the early and mid-twentieth century. I begin with a historical survey of the medical discourse of trauma and its relationship to literary texts in the modernist period, continuing into the period following World War II. I show how the contemporary discourse of trauma has tended to reduce this complex experience to a limited narrative. In this dominant formulation, many different events, incidents or processes may cause psychological trauma, but they all produce a debilitated, devastated, damaged psyche unable to express or heal itself. This narrative began taking shape after 1980, when Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder was included in the DSM. My analysis challenges several aspects of contemporary trauma theory. I propose alternatives to the ways in which trauma is used in literature and the way trauma theory is used in literary analysis. I focus on the relationship among combatants, noncombatants, and civilians in order to show that trauma is not the only response to combat and that combat is not the only source of trauma—even war-related trauma. I conclude by arguing that a rigorous exploration of the ethics of aesthetic representations of trauma can expose a number of conventional and misleading assumptions about trauma, war, and war narratives.

OBJECTIVES: Mobbing at the workplace refers to such cases as verbal harassment, aggressive words, sarcasm, slander or social isolation repeatedly targeted at a specific person at a specific period of time. Previous studies indicate that wellness and health of the victims who have been subjected to mobbing at workplace were affected adversely. Recently, there has been an increase in mobbing cases in Turkey. The purpose of the present study is to identify the features of trauma and analyse the development of mental problems caused by traumatic experiences in individuals who have been subjected to mobbing at workplace, and admitted to psychiatry services. METHOD: Three-hundred individuals included in the study who had been admitted to Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Psychiatry Department, Psychosocial Trauma Programme, through general psychiatry outpatient clinics and forensic medicine institute consultations, with the purpose of preparing forensic reports between January 2008-September 2012. Trauma Evaluation Form (TIF), Posttraumatic Stress Diagnostic Scale (PDS), Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R) were administered. RESULTS: Mobbing was identified in 130 out of 300 patients who claimed to have been subjected to trauma at workplace (43.3%). Mobbing cases were aged between 18 and 61, 100 (76.9%) of them were women. 56 (43%) of the cases were married, 54 (41.5%) of them were single and others were divorced, widowed or separated. 110 (84.6%) of the patients were university graduates while 13 of them were high school graduates and 5 of them were elementary school graduates. 76 of the cases were government officers and 65 of them were teachers. 93 (71.5%) patients were diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) according to The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Fourth Edition-Revised (DSM-IV-TR) criteria, 9 patients (6.9%) had adjustment disorder and 102 of the patients (78.5%) were diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder.
