Cambodia Rice : Export Potential and Strategies
In 2010, Cambodia exported 40,000 metric tons of rice. In 2013, Cambodia exported nearly 400,000 metric tons ofrice to 66 countries. A ten-fold increase in just three years. Moreover, in only five years, Cambodia moved from apaddy to a milled rice exporter, and is now well on the way to evolving from a commodity trader to a demand driven export marketer. The evolution is evident in both the product and the process, with the sector now equipped with modern milling capacities, both in terms of volumeand quality management. This includes the introduction of Food Safety certification programs vital for penetrating international markets. Such progress will contribute substantially to the government's rice sector policy of exporting one million tons of rice in 2015. This publication will present strategies and opportunities for Cambodian rice as an export product. It will illustrate how the Cambodia rice sector can improve its product image and how and where it can better place its rice in international markets given a more detailed analysis of its current and potential customers.

Export potential of Serbia's defense industry
In: Ekonomika preduzeca, Band 68, Heft 7-8, S. 510-521
ISSN: 2406-1239
This paper empirically tests an augmented gravity model of international trade in order to investigate the impact of various factors on the volume and direction of export of the Serbian defense industry. The results show that military expenditure, arms import and a dummy variable referring to historical ties in arms trade have positive effects, while, on the other hand, population, distance and degree of industrial development of partner countries have negative effects on Serbia's military export. The study resulted in three empirical models, all with a high coefficient of determination but different statistical significance of variables. One of them was selected and applied to all export partners of the Serbian defense industry. Out of 61 countries, 21 were determined as target markets based on the combination of two criteria - the trade potential index, determined by the application of the gravity model, and trade dynamics.

Export Potential of Fine Rice From Pakistan
In: The Pakistan development review: PDR, Band 4, Heft 4, S. 665-706
In recent years, rice has emerged as an important foreign
exchange earner for Pakistan. All the rice exports since 1958-59 were
supplied by West Pakistan, a surplus rice area under the present price
and procurement policies. In spite of an overall rice deficit, due to
deficiency of production in East Pakistan, high-priced fine varieties
were exported at the same time that PL 480 food grains were being
imported. The current thinking in and outside the government is to raise
substantially the production and exports of fine rice (especially
Basmati rice). In order to examine the rationality of increasing the
production and exports of fine rice, certain basic information on world
supply and demand are essential. This paper attempts to provide and
build up some of the necessary infor¬mation on the supply of and demand
for Pakistan's fine rices. Moreover, the rationality of increasing the
production and exports of fine rice and of continuing the present policy
and institutional framework for the procurement and export of rice, is
examined. The paper is divided into four parts (in addition to the
intro¬duction and conclusion): i) supply potential of fine rices, ii)
potential world demand for fine rices; iii) policy and institutional
framework for the procure¬ment and export of fine rice; and iv)
rationality of increasing the production and export of fine rice.
