Nowadays with China's gradual entering into the globalized time, the goals and functions of the Chinese higher education should be innovated correspondingly. To cultivate the global citizen with internationalized perspective should become the fundamental dynamics of the present innovation in Chinese higher education. The international world of academy has different understanding to the concept of global citizen, but it also has some consistent opinions. For instance, the global citizen should have a world vision and perspective, and should not only concern the affairs of the local area and one's own nation, but also turn the vision of concentration to the whole globe; should form core values that could be recognized internationally and used in the management of the global affairs; and should also take an active stance in order to change the reality of the world so that the environment of the globe could become better gradually. To cultivate the global citizen with high quality, the following requirements should be paid attention to: (1) the consciousness of global citizen and globalization as well as the competencies of cross-cultural communication should be cultivated in higher education with teachers' cultivation one step ahead; (2) the country should have legislation to strengthen the educational goals of cultivating global citizen in higher education in order to cultivate the students to become the real global citizen with high quality who could make their contributions to the country and the world and who could also offer the intelligence and capacity as a tribute; (3) the core values with global significance in Chinese traditional culture should be refined, and the world populated core values should be analyzed scientifically so that the corevalues in globalized epoch could be formed and established gradually with the communication between the cultures of East and West; (4) the Chinese universities' 'going global' should be greatly pushed so as to make the world understand China and to make China understand the world better and better.

The Confucian ethics which is the main body of the Chinese traditional culture has established its "basic morality" or "mother morality" not only in China, but also in some of the Asian countries. It is formed in the long historical development of more than 2000 years. First of all, it had the contention of a hundred schools of thought in the Pre-Qin Dynasty, and the Confucianist thought with its own colors was formed at that time. When Dong Zhongshu made his suggestions that restrained all other schools but only respected Confucianism, the predominance of Confucianism over the political life had been defined in Chinese society. After the later generations' cooperating thing of diverse nature with unity of opposites, it was developed into the idealist philosophy of the Song (960 -1279) and Ming (1368-1644). Dynasties, which combined Confucianism, Buddhism and Daoism. The critical development of the modern Chinese society to Confucianist thought made us scholars have a timely reflection on the Confucian ethics. The requirement of constructing a harmonious world in the present time made us further considerate the moral education with Confucianist ethics.

Forensic psycholinguistics is an emerging interdisciplinary subject that makes use of the psychological methods to analyze the linguistic phenomena in legal activities and therefore it is of the multiple and cross-disciplinary nature. In ancient Chinese culture there were written expressions with thoughts of foren¬sic psycholinguistics and its practices. In Western countries the research started from European societies at the end of 19th cen¬tury when Münsterberg and Cattell and some other scholars act¬ed as the pioneers of this domain. After the WWII the research center of forensic psycholinguistics gradually moved to the Unit¬ed States where the research of legal psychology and the use of psychological methods greatly facilitate the study and practic¬es of forensic psycholinguistics. Its study object aims at the lin¬guistic behavior in such legal activities as legislation, judicial, the obeying of the law and transgression, and its task should be the research on the behavior of the legal language in both levels of consciousness and unconsciousness. The construction of the system for forensic psycholinguistics should start from the perspectives of linguistic psychology of legislation, judicial, the enforcement and obeying of the law and the legal publicity so that a cross-cultural emerging subject with its values of prac¬tical application could be created.

Counsellors are important key members in Chinese universities. In this paper, on the one hand, we compared student affairs workers' occupational characteristics, classification and development of western as well as Chinese university. On the other hand, Chinese university faculty members and students are our subjects. Of 800 pieces circulated, 537 pieces are found to be effective. We verified the reliability and validity of data, then conducted correlation analysis, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The test has good reliability and validity. Cronbach's alpha coefficient and the split-half reliability coefficient are all above 0.9, indicating that the actual value is in good accordance with the true value. The internal alpha coefficient and the split-half reliability coefficient of each factor are all above 0.8. Χ2/df<5. GFI, AGFI, NFI, CFI, IFI,RMSEA and the other indicators are fitting, and this test meets measurement requirements. A 5-factor model is formulated based on the research results, including: moral quality; professional competence; political awareness; instructive ability; interpersonal skills. This 5-factor model reflects the evaluation of faculty members and students in universities on qualities of counsellors and transformation in their expectation for the role counsellors play as time goes by. So we summarize the qualities of counsellors are constantly changing. These changes have been constantly evolving in time, and their traits are such as: Objectivity of the times, Initiative of inner, Predictability of practice. This study examined rural and urban Chinese adolescents' (aged 13–19 years, N = 395) attitudes toward children's self-determination and nurturance rights, and how these attitudes relate to various dimensions of socialization in their family and school environments, including perceptions of parental and teacher autonomy support and responsiveness and family and school democratic climate. Relations between these variables and psychological well-being also were examined. Perceived parent and teacher autonomy support and responsiveness and democratic climate differentially predicted attitudes toward each type of right and were positively correlated with adolescents' psychological well-being. Our findings suggest that environments that are structured more democratically and that are responsive to children's autonomy needs contribute to their psychological health and well-being in diverse cultural settings.

AbstractThis study examined rural and urban Chinese adolescents' (13–19 years, N = 395) attitudes toward children's self‐determination and nurturance rights, and how these attitudes relate to various dimensions of socialization in their family and school environments, including perceptions of parental and teacher autonomy support and responsiveness and family and school democratic climate. Relations between these variables and psychological well‐being also were examined. Hierarchical regression analyses revealed that maternal responsiveness and teacher autonomy support predicted higher levels of endorsement of nurturance rights. Maternal autonomy support and tolerance of dissent at home predicted greater endorsement of self‐determination rights. Democratic climate in the home predicted higher life‐satisfaction and fewer depressive symptoms, even when parent and teacher autonomy support and responsiveness were controlled. Our findings suggest that environments that are structured more democratically and that are more responsive to children's autonomy needs are associated with higher levels of endorsement of children's rights and contribute to adolescents' psychological health and well‐being in a non‐Western culture.

To reduce the limitations of current measures of morality, and to focus on an effective approach to moral development among university students, the researchers adopted the Konstanz Method of Dilemma Discussion, to probe whether this type of method can also be applied among Chinese students, regarding the development of moral competence. 'Moral Competence', also known as 'moral-democratic' competence, is a concept developed by German psychologist, Professor Georg Lind. It is built upon the theories of Kohlberg, yet focuses on moral judgment and democratic decision-making competence. Lind designed a scale based on his dual-aspect theory, and suggested a follow-up method for building up moral competence. KMDD has been used in Germany and other countries for many years and has achieved positive results when applied. The initial application of this type of method in China started in 2012. After more than two years' of planning and research, we used this method with different groups of Chineseuniversity students and tested its efficacy. Participants were set as the control and experiment groups. After analysing the preand- post-test data from all the participants, the result shows that the intervention effect with experiment groups was very significant with a noticeable Absolute Effect Size of C-score, while the competence score of control group regressed sharply due to reasons to be identified. Data from the experiment were analysed and intervention results were compared, to examine the efficacy of the method and to evaluate further application and research of KMDD in China.

AbstractYounger (13 years) and older (17 years) adolescents (N = 160) from urban and rural China responded to written scenarios in which children's rights to self‐determination and nurturance conflicted with the desires of authorities. They also evaluated scenarios in which children's desire to exercise self‐determination was in conflict with their own welfare interests (nurturance). Older participants and those from urban settings were more likely than younger participants and those from rural settings to endorse self‐determination, both when in conflict with authority and nurturance. When supporting self‐determination, participants appealed to individual rights, autonomy, and personal choice in their justifications. The findings indicate that concepts of diverse types of rights are maintained by adolescents from both modern and traditional settings in China.
