Este artículo explica una interacción entre gobierno local de la ciudad de Urbana (Illinois, EE. UU.), una comunidad del distrito tres de la ciudad y estudiantes del seminario de posgrado de Datos en Comunidad de la Universidad de Illinois. Many healthcare professionals and professional societies are demanding action to counter 'burnout', especially in the acute care medical specialties. This review is intended to empower this laudable 'call to arms', while also validating concerns that have been raised about how we typically define, measure and counter this important issue. This review aims to advance the discussion, dispel common misconceptions, add important nuance, and identify common ground. We also encourage the ideas contained within the military term 'occupational stress injury', which include a cultural shift away from blame and stigmatization, and towards shared responsibility and empathy. We also outline why mandatory testing can be troublesome and why interventions should be tailored to individuals. While the need for immediate action may seem self-evident, we wish to mitigate the real possibility that good intentions could make a perilous situation worse. 'Burnout' matters, but how individuals and organizations go forward matters even more.

The politicization of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the United States and abroad has received significant scholarly attention, particularly surrounding misinformation circulating on social media among millions of users. However there has been far less attention paid to how platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and others impact vaccine uptake within local, geographically specific communities. Local public health departments view platforms as critical communication infrastructure for outreach. Through a case study of Illinois, we examine how vaccine uptake is associated with county-level public health communication on Facebook, political regionalism, demographic variation, and digital access and reach. We ask about (a) discoverability: are individuals conducting digital searches able to find and access local public health information on their websites and social media? (b) reach: does growth in public health departments' Facebook followers correlate to vaccination rate? and (c) practices: is there an association between discoverability, moderation policies/practices of local public health departments' Facebook pages, and county-reported vaccination rates? We draw on original data about discoverability and local public health department's Facebook pages in addition to secondary data on voting behavior and rurality. We find discoverability as well as moderation are positively associated with vaccination rates, while greater Facebook reach in rural Illinois is negatively correlated with vaccination rates.

Methods The Executive Committee of the European Society of Intensive Care (ESICM) commissioned the project and supervised the methodology and structure of the consensus. We selected an international panel of 19 expert clinicians-researchers in intensive care unit (ICU) with expertise in critical care ultrasonography (US), plus a non-voting methodologist. The panel was divided into five subgroups (brain, lung, heart, abdomen and vascular ultrasound) which identified the domains and generated a list of questions to be addressed by the panel. A Delphi process based on an iterative approach was used to obtain the final consensus statements. Statements were classified as a strong recommendation (84% of agreement), weak recommendation (74% of agreement), and no recommendation (less than 74%), in favor or against. Results This consensus produced a total of 74 statements (7 for brain, 20 for lung, 20 for heart, 20 for abdomen, 7 for vascular Ultrasound). We obtained strong agreement in favor for 49 statements (66.2%), 8 weak in favor (10.8%), 3 weak against (4.1%), and no consensus in 14 cases (19.9%). In most cases when consensus was not obtained, it was felt that the skills were considered as too advanced. A research agenda and discussion on training programs were implemented from the results of the consensus. Conclusions This consensus provides guidance for the basic use of critical care US and paves the way for the development of training and research projects.

Abstract: We have provided an overview on the profound impact of COVID-19 upon older people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias and the challenges encountered in our management for dementia in different health care settings, including hospital, out-patient, care homes, and the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have also proposed a conceptual framework and practical suggestions for health care providers in tackling these challenges, which can also apply to the care of older people in general, with or without other neurological diseases, such as stroke or parkinsonism. We believe this review will provide strategic directions and set standards for health care leaders in dementia, including governmental bodies around the world in coordinating emergency response plans for protecting and caring for older people with dementia amid COIVD-19 outbreak, which is likely to continue at varying severity at different regions around the world in the medium term.
