Abstract
This article reviews five monographs, two edited volumes, two articles and one journal published in 2020 in the emergent field of Book Theory. This review takes Book Theory to mean theoretically-alert work at the intersection of the literary and material, and reflects on what that combination of material and theoretical approaches brings to scholarship through the work under discussion. The review is divided into four sections: 'On the Book', 'On Reading', 'On Paper', and 'The Structures of Book Theory'.
