Very often, work with individuals with hyperactivity takes the form of social modeling, prompting, play therapy interventions, shaping, practice through repetition, behavioral rehearsal, focused instruction, reinforcement and homework assignments. The training and implementation of some play interventions can sometimes effectively serve as the only method, as the only type of therapy for a particular individual or a particular disorder. All this motivates the author to raise the question of the importance of play as an alternative therapeutic intervention for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder through this article.
