Pipa is one of the most popular musical instruments in ancient China. This article first analyzes the historical development of the pipa, including its origins, evolutionary process and types. This is followed by an in-depth analysis of pipa playing postures in the Han and Tang dynasties, Song and Yuan dynasties, and Ming and Qing dynasties.
Chinese government has been advocating a reduction in energy intensity in its efforts to meet peak carbon targets, particularly in the context of emerging economic growth and frequent technological breakthroughs. This study assesses China's digital economy based on regional data experience and constructs a non-linear dynamic threshold model that incorporates heterogeneity thresholds for low-carbon technology innovation into the impact mechanism to explore whether the digital economy can effectively reduce regional energy intensity. It is found that China's digital economy currently shows an overall upward trend with fluctuations in parts and a wide gap between the rich and the poor. Further, a significant heterogeneous threshold effect of low-carbon technology innovation exists in the effect of digital economy development on energy intensity: a lower level of low-carbon technology innovation is not advantageous to the decrease of energy intensity by digital economy development, while as the level of low-carbon technology innovation increases and exceeds the "threshold value," the effect of digital economy development is effectively enhanced to a certain extent, thus promoting the reduction of energy intensity. As the level of low-carbon technology innovation raises and surpasses the "critical value," the impact effect of digital economy development is heightened to a certain extent, thus promoting the decrease of energy intensity. The study replies the question of how to effectively use low-carbon technology innovation to accomplish digital economy development and help reduce regional energy intensity, which provides a reference for achieving the goal of carbon peak and accelerating green and high-quality economic development.
PurposeThe purpose of this study is to investigate when and why supervisor negative feedback is associated with employees' job performance via two different pathways (i.e. emotion-focused coping and problem-focused coping) and to introduce proactive personality as a moderator.Design/methodology/approachTime-lagged data were collected using a field survey research design. Participants included 389 dyads of employees and their direct supervisors from five companies in China.FindingsSupervisor negative feedback can lead to employees' emotion-focused coping, which in turn impairs their job performance. Meanwhile, supervisor negative feedback can trigger employees' problem-focused coping, which subsequently promotes their job performance. Furthermore, proactive personality moderates the indirect effect of supervisor negative feedback on employee performance through emotion-focused coping.Originality/valueThis study explored the double-edged effects of supervisor negative feedback on employee job performance from a coping strategy perspective and investigated how proactive personality influences the choice of coping strategies.
Inshore ship detection plays an important role in many civilian and military applications. The complex land environment and the diversity of target sizes and distributions make it still challenging for us to obtain accurate detection results. In order to achieve precise localization and suppress false alarms, in this paper, we propose a framework which integrates a multi-scale feature fusion network, rotation region proposal network and contextual pooling together. Specifically, in order to describe ships of various sizes, different convolutional layers are fused to obtain multi-scale features based on the baseline feature extraction network. Then, for the purpose of accurate target localization and arbitrary-oriented ship detection, a rotation region proposal network and skew non-maximum suppression are employed. Finally, on account of the disadvantages that the employment of a rotation bounding box usually causes more false alarms, we implement inclined context feature pooling on rotation region proposals. A dataset including port images collected from Google Earth and a public ship dataset HRSC2016 are employed in our experiments to test the proposed method. Experimental results of model analysis validate the contribution of each module mentioned above, and contrast results show that our proposed pipeline is able to achieve state-of-the-art performance of arbitrary-oriented inshore ship detection.
BACKGROUND: A national control program for echinococcosis has been in effect since 2005 in China. This program has applied a comprehensive strategy, and good control results have been achieved. Human echinococcosis prevalence rate decrease from 1.08% in 2004 to 0.24% in 2012. The objective of this study is focusing on assessment of the programme with two indices, including patient treatment and registered dogs deworming, in endemic areas of echincoccosis control over the period of 10 years (2004–2014) in China. METHODS: We established the database including demography at county and township levels with coverage for ten provinces and autonomous regions of China in this study. We using methods of epidemiological descriptive, instead the expectation-maximization for missing value filling for grouping available patients into those subjected to surgery and those receiving drug treatment after population screening and the dogs population after registered by deworming. We performed Microsoft Excel software and SPSS software on the results as percentages with the corresponding 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs). We also statistically analyzed the economics data on patient treatment and dogs deworming after the corresponding discount with annual bank interest rates (USD 1 = CNY 6.5, bank discount average changes of 2.3–3.3%). RESULTS: During 2004–2014, the grant total average rate of surgical patient (after surgical operation) treatment had increased with 32.4% and with 81.3% for medical treatment with albendazole. Meanwhile, it increased by 58.6% for the deworming of registered dog since 2007. The accumulated costs amounted to USD 27.03 million after discount for patients and registered dog treatment, which is 1/4 of the total accumulated financial inputs (USD 110.67 million from the Chinese Government). Since the implementation of the national program, it has increased 57 times with respect to the annual financial inputs (costs) and 368 times with respect to all accumulated financial inputs (costs).
