Economy is one of the basic systems of human being, and economic concepts are used in various sciences, sometimes in unexpected combinations. One of these is the concept of economic ideology, used for quite a long time, but most widely in recent decades, and in various meanings. At the same time, its actual economic studies are rare, so that in fact it is used in political science, sociology and psychology. This discrepancy defines the objectives of the article: to analyze the main practices of using the concept of economic ideology and to propose a way to organize them, or propose a typology, based on which it would be possible to identify the directions of economic analysis of this concept. Such studies would allow us to develop the study of the subjective information, in particular beliefs, impact on economic decision-making.

Attention is drawn to the lack of counsel in the discussion of such a phenomenon as the possible presence among students of beliefs consistent with folk economics, which may hinder the acceptance of the provisions and principles of economic science. It is shown that when discussing the possibilities of wider inclusion in teaching of the provisions of heterodox economic theories, it makes sense to take into account the peculiarities of the definition of their subject matters. These peculiarities lead to the inclusion in the search for scientific solutions of "wicked problems", which by definition do not have a scientific solution. The structure of the introductory course is proposed, that makes it possible to characterize the features of the real economy, the absence of which in standard introductory courses is pointed out by many researchers both in the domestic and world economic literature.

The results of empirical studies of a number of Russian industries and production complexes, based on the methodology of system-oriented modeling and the concept of mesoeconomic systems, are characterized and evaluated. The analysis of theoretical foundations for regulating mesoeconomic systems proposed in the monograph has been carried out. The economic and sociological methodological interpretations of understanding such systems are compared, and the advantages of the first one are substantiated. The unsolved methodological problems of mesoeconomics are formulated.

Modern evolutionary economics consists of several areas of research that differ significantly both in objects and research methods. One of these areas includes in its tasks the search for evidence that changes occurring in the economy are similar to those that were studied in Darwin's theory of the living nature's evolution. The article poses and solves two main tasks: firstly, to demonstrate the incorrectness of the interpretation of "Generalized Darwinism" as a model of evolution, the features of which coincide with the original Darwinian understanding, and, secondly, to show that in economics it is really possible to identify objects in which changes occur in a way close to what was discovered by Charles Darwin. It is shown that "Generalized Darwinism" is in fact a model of those types of evolution that are not Darwinian. At the same time, it has been demonstrated that in economics it is indeed possible to distinguish subsystems called "systems for creating product families," whose properties are similar to fruit plants, and changes are carried out through natural Darwinian selection. The final part presents directions in which the use of the proposed approach can make a certain contribution to further development of evolutionary economics.

The purpose of the article is to compare the content of the phenomenon, called the crisis of scientific publications, in the world and domestic economic and social sciences. It is shown that in the world science the disproportionate increase in prices for subscription publications is determined by purely market reasons, while in Russian science the reduction in demand for traditional journals is associated with a decrease in demand for high-quality scientific knowledge, which, in turn, is due to the measures of neoliberal science policy applied. Scenarios for the development of the situation with peer-reviewed domestic economic journals are proposed and evaluated.

The purpose of the article is to analyze the possibilities and feasibility of using narrative analysis methods in studying the structure and dynamics of entrepreneurial networks. To achieve it, the author provides the description of an entrepreneurial network concept, explores the results of its exploration in the world science, which leads to the conclusion that the use of purely quantitative methods to study entrepreneurial networks does not allow us to reveal their essential features determined by a number of practically unmeasurable social factors. One of these results is the correlation between the two blocks in entrepreneurial business networks: personal entrepreneurial networks that arise before the start of an individual's business activity, and ordinary inter-firm interactions that begin to operate after the start of his business, usually in the form of the creation of his first firm. The first block is not affected by standard official statistics and requires different research methods. Based on this, the article discusses in detail the concept of narratives and methods for studying them in social sciences, with a special attention on narrative analysis in economics. Finally, the author characterizes the variants of such analysis, proposes and substantiates the logic and methodological features of its application to the study of entrepreneurial networks.

The article is devoted to the analysis of modern ideas about the quality of institutions concept, and the development on this basis of its generalized and operational understanding. The interpretation of the quality of the institution as its legitimacy from the point of view of stakeholders of the institution's performance is grounded. Starting from the understanding of the object or process legitimacy as a recognition of its right to exist, an approximate question is proposed for conducting sociological surveys to assess the quality of institutions. In the final section of the article, the evolutionary definition of the concept of quality is proposed, and it is shown that the identification of the institutions quality with their legitimacy is fully consistent with this definition.

In recent years, some papers were published with the aim to integrate the original institutional economics and new institutional economics. This paper considers the possibility to solve this problem. To do this, it has analyzed four tasks: firstly, how do the original institutionalists characterize their scientific program specificity; secondly, how do the original institutionalists criticize new institutional economics; thirdly, what do they mean by the integration of original institutional economics and new institutional economics, that they have been observing since the 1990s and fourthly, what do they propose as a integration program. The analysis showed that the explicit methodology of original institutionalism, in fact, attributes to it characteristics, which are very close to the properties of "folk theory". New institutional economics' criticism is often based on the distorted interpretations of this scientific research program. The authors typically understand as the institutionalisms' similarity the facts of the new institutionalism development by Douglass North, who used the data of the empirical behavioral research, but not the claims of original institutionalism. The method of integration proposed in the literature presupposes the adoption of the old institutionalism methodology by the new institutionalism, which could drastically reduce the quality of its research. The paper concludes that under present-day conditions, it is practically impossible to create a unified institutional economics.

The paper is devoted to the analysis of conclusiveness of assertions that national cultural values influence the levels of national and regional economies, firms, and individuals innovative activity. These assertions are based on correlations between societal values and some innovative activity indicators, while presumable mechanisms of that impact are not described and empirically verified. It is shown that national culture representation by societal values is irrelevant, whereby any statements about culture influence on innovations appear unjustified. It means that additional studies relaying on different culture representations are necessary to understand what exactly and how components of national culture affect innovations.

На основании анализа большого числа эмпирических исследований, где выявлены последствия мер научной политики, реализуемой во многих странах, в статье показано, что проводимая в России государственная науч- ная политика включает инструменты, препятствующие достижению декла- рируемых в ней целей. Установлено, что лишены научных оснований такие компоненты отечественной научной политики, как механизмы повышения публичной подотчетности науки, намерения финансировать исследования в основном на конкурсной основе, стремления развивать науку преимущест- венно в университетах (силами преподавателей), а также тренд к укрупнению исследовательских организаций.

The purpose of the article is to provide theoretical and empirical evidence that narrative analysis in economics is not an integral part of qualitative research and is quite compatible with the methodology of quantitative research. The development of methods for collecting and processing data is one of the significant directions in the development of both empirical and theoretical research in economics. Of particular importance to this direction is the consistent expansion of the consideration of social factors in the study of decision-making processes, both at the micro and macro levels. Narrative economics, which has emerged and developed in the last decade, is an integral part of this trend. The article proposes and substantiates a methodology for empirical analysis of narratives considered as sources of quantitative information used in decision making. This distinguishes it from the methods of narrative analysis used in qualitative research in the social sciences, although they are not always distinguished in the literature. The technique combines the search for the frequency of occurrence of various phrases on the Internet with interview analysis, which significantly reduces the time and effort required to search and analyze the necessary information about social factors. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology is tested on the example of the analysis of narratives that characterize personal entrepreneurial networks, no statistical information about which is collected, although the networks themselves play an important role in the formation of new small businesses. The presented results of the analysis show that the technique makes it possible to obtain useful quantitative data on such objects of economic research.
