AbstractThe aim of our study is to highlight what kind of factors influence the attachment of inhabitants to the towns in the test area "Murafölde", a Hungarian micro‐region. We assume, that the level of attachment is a function of the inhabitants' satisfaction with employment opportunities. In 2017, a total of 1,900 questionnaires have been collected in the test area. This was the first survey in the region aiming at identifying the inhabitants' motivation for mobility. Results indicate that satisfaction with employment opportunities significantly influence the attachment to the towns, while there are other factors which are even stronger.
