This study aims to determine the movement and literacy activities of the community in the District of Bandung. The focus of this research is on how the activity of literacy done by the community through the activity in Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (TBM). The scope of this research is about the role of TBM managers, attention to the problems of community literacy, community response to literacy movement and how the role of related parties such as government, regional libraries and others in supporting the literacy movement developed in TBM. The method used is qualitative method with case study approach. Data were collected through observation and indepth interviews. The result of this research is to get the picture that TBM-TBM managed by informants is TBM-TBM active in growing movement of literacy. Various literacy activities are actively carried out in various forms such as reading activities, discussions, workshops, training, competitions, exhibitions and storytelling. TBM managers actively inflame the literacy movement within the surrounding community. Community participation is quite high considering that the manager of TBM always actively make efforts of community involvement. Support from the government, especially the District Library Bandung is felt very meaningful and beneficial for the continuity of TBM and literacy movement. The partnership network is built actively with various parties, both government and private. The informants in the study as a whole are open to collaborating and sharing information, knowledge and experience in managing TBM and developing literacy movements in their communities.
This study is intended to describe social workers as agents of change. Social workers as a profession in Indonesia is still synonymous with the social profession which means working socially, done with voluntarily and not expecting an intention. The scope of this study is on volunteer social workers in rural libraries or in prisons libraries. The method used in this study is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data acquisition through interviews, observation and literature review. The results illustrate the point in the library become the most desirable place for inmates to make the most of their time in search of entertainment and knowledge. The village library can be a place for people to engage actively in activities such as practicing computers, preserving local culture and knowledge, and entrepreneurship training. The conclusion of this study is that libraries, both village libraries and prison libraries can contribute to improving the quality of life of the community. The Profession of Social Workers participates and functions as a agent of change by involving themselves as educators, facilitators, community facilitators and partners for the government and the private sector
Abstrak. Penelitian ini mengkaji Strategi komunikasi dalam pengembangan desa wisata agro di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Dengan metode kualitatif dan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, Focus Group Discussion, dan studi pustakan penelitilian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perencanaan komunikasi dan manjemen komunikasi dalam pengembangan desa wisata agro di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Manfaat dari hasil penelitian ini adakah memberikan masukan bagi pemerintah dan beberapa pihak yang terkait mengenai strategi komunikasi (pola komunikasi efektif) dalam pengembangan desa wisata, sehingga pihak-pihak tersebut mampu membuat kebijakan-kebijakan yang sangat tepat dalam pengembangan desa wisata terutama desa wisata agro di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, Desa yang mmeiliki potensi sebagai Desa Agro Wisata di Kabupaten Bandung Barat, perlu diadakannya pola pembinaan agro wisata agar para pelaku pariwisata dan pelaku pertanian secara sinergis dapat merencanakan, menyusun, memprogramkan agro wisata yang bermanfaat bagi masyarakat, pengusaha, dan pemerintah. Dalam hal ini perlu adanya komunikasi yang baik antar pihak. Dengan terjalinnya komunikasi yang baik antar pihak maka harmonisasi sosial dalam pengembangan desa wisata agro ini akan tercapai. Strategi komunikasi sangat penting karena ia merupakan paduan perencanaan komunikasi (communication planning) dan manajemen komunikasi (communication management) untuk mencapai suatu tujuan. This study examines the communication strategy in the development of agro-tourism village in West Bandung regency. Use qualitative methods and techniques of data collection through interviews, observation, focus group discussions, and the library to study aims to determine the penelitilian communications planning and management of communication in the development of agro-tourism village in West Bandung regency. The benefits of this research is there to provide input for the government and some interested parties about the communication strategy (pattern of effective communication) in the development of rural tourism, so that the parties are able to make policies that are particularly appropriate in rural tourism development especially rural agro-tourism in West Bandung regency. Based on the research results, in West Bandung regency, especially in Lembang, keep holding the pattern of development of agro-tourism so that the perpetrators of tourism and agriculture synergistically actors can plan, arrange, program an agro-tourism that benefit the community, employers, and government. In this case the need for good communication between the parties. With good communications between the parties, harmonized social development of rural agro-tourism will be achieved. The communication strategy is very important because it is a blend of communication planning and communication management to achieve a goal. This research discussed about the credibility of Library staff at SMAN 1 Sindang, Indramayu. This research used Credibility Theory from Hovland, Janis, and Kelley (1953). The purpose of this research is to know the credibility of library staff trough three components:attractiveness, skill and trust. The method used in this research is qualitative method with case study. Data were obtained from observations, interviews, and literature searches. The informant are eight people include the head of library, two library staffs, and five students. The result of this research shows the library staffs at SMAN 1 Sindang have good enough credibility. The library staff attraction consist of two factors; 1) Internal factor that is application of instructional technique and human realtions in communicating with students that produce a good interpersonal communication, 2) External factor is promotion that library staffs did such as rewarding and library socialization. Library staffs skill at SMAN 1 Sindang include management, service, developing of library staff sistem based on management competence, information management competence, education competence, personality competence, social competence, and profession development competence. It can be concluded the attractiveness and skill is to be related each other to build trust that continuously produce library staffs credibility at SMAN 1 Sindang. Library staff credibility in SMAN 1 Sindang was influenced too by educational factor, experience, and communication style. Hopefully, this research can be reference for the government to keep upgrading the human resources at school library especially SMAN 1 Sindang.Penelitian ini menggambarkan kredibilitas tenaga perpustakaan SMA 1 Sindang, Indramayu. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori kredibilitas dari Hovland, Janis dan Kelley (1953). Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui kredibilitas tenaga perpustakaan melalui tiga komponen: daya tarik, keahlian dan kepercayaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode kualitatif melalui studi kasus. Data penelitian dihasilkan dari observasi, wawancara, dan studi literatur. Informan adalah 8 orang termasuk kepala perpustakaan, 2 tenaga perpustakaan dan 5 siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tenaga perpustakaan SMA 1 Sindang memiliki kredibilitas yang cukup bagus. Daya tenaga perpustakaan terdiri dari 2 faktor; 1) faktor internal yang diaplikasikan dari teknik instruksional dan hubungan manusia dalam komunikasi diantara siswa yang diproduksi melalui komunikasi interpersonal, 2) faktor eksternal ialah promosi yang dilakukan tenaga perpustakaan melalui penghargaan dan sosialisasi perpustakaan. Keahlian tenaga perpustakaan SMA 1 Sindang termasuk manajemen, pelayanan, pengembangan sistem tenaga perpustakaan berdasarkan manajemen kompetensi, manajemen kompetensi informasi, kompetensi pendidikan, kompetensi kepribadian, kompetensi sosial, dan pengembangan kompetensi profesi. Dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa daya tarik dan keahlian menjadi saling terhubung satu sama lain untuk membangun kepercayaan yang diproduksi terus menerus oleh kredibilitas tenaga perpustakaan SMA 1 Sindang. Kredibilitas tenaga perpustakaan di SMA 1 Sindang dipengaruhi juga melalui faktor pendidikan, pengalaman, dan gaya komunikasi. Harapannya, penelitian ini dapat menjadi rujukan bagi pemerintah untuk meningkatkan sumber daya manusia di Perpustakaan Sekolah khususnya SMA 1 Sindang.
This study aims to mapping the culture of information literacy on coastal communities in West Java region. While the urgency of this research is an effort to foster interest in reading the community, including in this case the people in the coastal areas should be the attention of all parties. The research method used in this study is the mix method (mix method) as a combination approach as an alternative to the use of a single method in a study. The mixed method will give better results because it has a wealth of data, because it can combine or combine. Based on the results of research conducted in the first stage it is known that the culture literasi community in the coastal area in general is still low. In addition, also support the regulation and legislation of local government or district government in the south coast of West Java, namely Sukabumi, Cianjur, Garut, Tasik and Pangandaran) in the effort to develop the culture of literasi in general is still low.
The learning process in madrasas (Islamic-based elementary schools) is seen as being able to contribute to instilling values and norms in students following Islamic teachings. The issue of organizational culture and teacher performance also becomes a determining factor in creating a quality learning process. In this research, the aim is to determine: 1) the effect of organizational culture on the quality of the learn-ing process; 2) the effect of teacher performance on the quality of the learning process; and 3) the influ-ence of organizational culture on teacher performance. Respondents in this study were all class teachers from three madrasas as a sample representing all public madrasas in the city of Bandar Lampung, Indo-nesia. The results obtained indicate that the variables of organizational culture and the quality of the learning process have an influence, with R squared of 0.67 or 67%, which is classified as moderate. This shows that madrassas have implemented predetermined work culture values, namely: a) integrity, the harmony between correct thoughts, words, and deeds; b) professionalism, working in a disciplined, competent, and timely manner with the best results; c) innovation, perfecting existing and creating new and improved techniques and ideas; d) responsibility, working thoroughly and with thought for the con-sequences; and e) being exemplary, setting a good example for others.
The condition of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has not ended yet, continues to demand that everyone innovate so that they can carry out their activities as before by prioritizing health. All types of activities in society are hampered, such as the economic, education, government, and even public services sectors, including information institutions or library institutions. This research and scientific writing aims to explain how libraries can continue to adapt even in the midst of a pandemic by producing a new form of service or innovation in library services to continue providing services to the community and explaining what challenges or obstacles are experienced during the adjustment period at the Archive Office and Subang Regency Regional Library. This research was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods with the process of collecting data through field observations. Interviews, and literature study. The results showed that the innovation carried out was by developing services in digital form and still operating with limited visitors by quarantining books that were used by users. In these development activities, the main challenges were encountered, namely the low reading interest of the community, limited development budgets, and the availability of competent human resources. In conclusion, innovation is the key for the Regency Archives and Library Service in improving services amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
