TOWARDS THE OPTIMAL ALLOCATION OF ELECTION CAMPAIGN FUNDS

ELECTION CAMPAIGN IS A COSTLY AFFAIR AND ELECTION FUNDS ARE LIMITED. MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY IN THE FUNDS ALLOCATION IS THEREFORE REQUIRED. THERE IS A SIMILARITY BETWEEN THE THEORY OF TWO-PARTY DEMOCRATIC POLITICS AND THE THEORY OF DUOPOLY. THE DUOPOLY MARKETING PROMOTION FUNCTION IS OFFERED AS A MEANS OF OPTIMISING THE ALLOCATION OF ELECTION CAMPAIGN FUNDS BETWEEN DIFFERENT MEDIA.
