The paper deals with Validity of such clauses and the protection of insured person considered as weaker party in the contract of insurance. The paper highlights the position of Jordanian courts, it pays particular intention to comparative doctrines and legislation.
This study aimed to identify The Attitudes of Security Student Sciences at Al – Istiqlal University toward Swimming Learning. The researchers used the descriptive approach. To achieve this, the study was conducted on a randomized, stratified sample (234) students enrolled in the summer semester of the academic Physical year 2017, The scale of (Rabab'a and Abu Zema, 2013) was used to measure, students trends. The results of the study showed that students' attitudes were positive toward learning Swimming. Reaching Response percentage (.8), The results also showed that there were no significant differences between students attitudes according to gender, The study recommends the necessity of introducing the swimming course as a compulsory requirement in the academic plan for undergraduate students at the University of Istiqlal. it has an active role to develop and enhance self-confidence and to serve the local community.

One of the main elements of a contract is consent, therefore it demanded special attention in the theory of contract and was given the adequate conditions by the legislator to make sure that the consent of any party to a contract is sound and well established.Nonetheless, the development of modern means of communication, especially cyber-space contracting (contracting using the internet) and the accelerating speed of production, distribution, and means of publicity that accompanied this phenomenon, the problem of protecting the consumer's consent from reckless cyber-space contracting emerged. This study aims at finding the most important means of protecting the contractor's consent, provided in the contemporary consumer protection laws, especially in the process of establishing the contract, and comparing such means with the means provided by Islamic Jurisprudence in this respect, in the hope that our legislator makes good use of this study in the 2007 Jordanian Draft Law on consumer protection, which is proposed by the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
AbstractThree new cross-linked chitosan derivatives were yielded through intensification of chitosan with diverse types of bis-aldehydes. The prepared cross-linked chitosan was characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR, XRD, and TGA techniques. TGA indicated an improvement in thermal stability of the cross-linked chitosan compared with pure chitosan. Batch adsorption experiments showed that the three novel cross-linked chitosan bis-aldehyde derivatives possessed good adsorption capacity against U(VI) in the order of BFPA > BFB > BODB (adsorption capacity of the three adsorbents for U(VI) reaches 142, 124, and 114 mg/g respectively) and the adsorption isotherm and kinetic were well described by the Langmuir and the pseudo-second-order kinetic model, respectively. In addition, the prepared cross-linked chitosan bis-aldehyde derivatives were examined as U(VI) catcher from waste solutions. Graphical Abstract
Obesity is strongly associated with cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and type 2 diabetes (T2D). This study aimed to use obesity measures, body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC) to predict the CVD and T2D risk and to determine the best predictor of these diseases among Jordanian adults. A cross-sectional study was conducted at the governmental and military hospitals across Jordan. The study participants were healthy or previously diagnosed with CVD or T2D. The continuous variables were compared using ANOVA, and the categorical variables were compared using the X2 test. The multivariate logistic regression was used to predict CVD and T2D risk through their association with BMI and WC. The final sample consisted of 6000 Jordanian adults with a mean age of 41.5 ± 14.7 years, 73.6% females. The BMI (OR = 1.7, CI: 1.30–2.30, p < ; 0.001) was associated with a higher risk of T2D compared to WC (OR = 1.3, CI: 1.04–1.52, p = 0.016). However, our results showed that BMI was not associated with CVD risk, while the WC was significantly and positively associated with CVD risk (OR = 1.9, CI: 1.47–2.47, p < ; 0.001). In conclusion, an elevated BMI predicts a higher risk of T2D, while WC is more efficient in predicting CVD risk. Our results can be used to construct a population-specific intervention to reduce the risk of CVD and T2D among adults in Jordan and other countries with similar backgrounds.
