In this thesis I research the relationship between the global political economy and the global sex industry. I am interested in how women are turned into commodities, objects, subjects or abjects through the process of commodification, subjectivation and objectivation in our so-called free, equal and liberal democracies. I will attempt to investigate how the Foucauldian concepts of "bio-power" and "bio-politics" are used in global neoliberal governance, and how through these measures human beings are governed, or rather disciplined and controlled, and how this in turn creates, supports, and maintains the global sex industry and the multiple inequalities it feeds on. The aim of this thesis is to demonstrate how the neoliberal world order and global governance create the space in which the global sex industry operates. I will attempt to show how neoliberal global governance creates global, gendered and ethnic inequalities, which in turn make the global political economy of sex possible. In other words, how global governance subjectivates individually and collectively to create different types of subject positions in a given society and in the global political economy as a whole. My primary research material will comprise of interviews and informal conversations with erotic dancers and their customers, (including observations) at one particular gentlemen's club in Brighton, the United Kingdom. The methodology I chose is ethnography, which combines several methods that are useful and necessary for conducting this type of fieldwork research, such as various types of interviewing and observations. The theoretical foundation is built upon previous research done on the topic, with my specific focus using the works of Michel Foucault and others as a lens.

Nonpsychotic, paranoid clients attend only to particular data, of which they have a biased view. They exist in a state of vigilance, and generally only data that confirm suspicions have subjective significance. Further areas of exploration could help to build a more clearly delineated treatment framework.

This study aims to describe the existence of Talempong Kayu in Talang Maur Village, Mungka District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency. This is a qualitative research using a descriptive analysis method. The main instrument in this study was the researcher itself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as writing instruments and cameras. The data were collected through literature study, observation, interview, and documentation. The steps of analyzing data are collecting data, describing the data, and making conclusions. The results of this study indicate that Talempong Kayu musical instrument is one of the traditional arts in Talang Village, Mungka District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency. It is played by being hit (idiophone). Talempong Kayu is only used as entertainment for the players, and serves as an emotional expression, aesthetic pleasure, and entertainment. The form of its presentation does not require other people or audiences. In the past, people in TalangMaur village had good enthusiasts and appreciation on Talempong Kayu. However, due to the development of the times, the enthusiasts have decreased considerably. This is due to the fact that today generation replaces their games byandroid phones that can access many games. Furthermore, there has been no government attention in developing Talempong Kayu Art. Talempong Kayu is only played by local people and is not really considered by the government. This is due to the fact that the wood Talempong Art only serves as a substitute musical instrument for training before the metal one, so this is not considered too important for deeper development.

Purpose
This study aims to evaluate the current state of sustainability education and research capacity at engineering faculties. More specifically, this research is intended to provide new and much-needed information about sustainability knowledge, teaching and research activities.
Design/methodology/approach
The first method used is a questionnaire survey completed by teachers and researchers about their activities dealing with sustainability and the second is based on a systematic literature review at the SCOPUS database for scientific publications on sustainability by Palestinian universities in the Palestinian context, and the number of publications in fields related to sustainability in Scopus indexed journals.
Findings
Some institutions include more sustainability topics in their teaching courses and research activities than others. The number of courses per teaching staff and department and the sustainability contents vary among the selected universities. Teaching activities focus on environmental sustainability, especially on energy, thermal and water efficiency. The number of Scopus indexed publications in fields related to sustainability in the past 20 years is low. The highest number of published papers was those focused on environmental sustainability.
Practical implications
This study has implications for university researchers and educators by identifying the gaps between the teaching and research conducted and the UN Sustainable Development Goals for 2030. For policymakers, the study shows that the status of sustainability in higher education, mainly at engineering schools, is still in great need for universities' and government's support, for example, to increase the number of published papers, number of courses and master programmes addressing sustainability.
Originality/value
This paper provides a current status for integrating sustainability education and research at engineering schools. The output of this study can be useful for future research to analyse higher education institutions' impacts on sustainable development.
Many previous studies have shown that measurements of Pb isotopic compositions provide a powerful tool in determining the origin of Pb in a wide range of environments. In the present study, this method was applied to airborne particulate matter sampled in urban areas from two countries: France and the United Kingdom. Initially, the main potential sources of Pb contamination were defined isotopically. Three important end-members contribute to urban Pb load: the Pb added as an anti-knock agent in gasoline (defined by ²⁰⁶Pb/²⁰⁷Pb ≈ 1.061-1.094), industrially-derived Pb (²⁰⁶Pb/²⁰⁷Pb ratios ≈ 1.143-1.155) and « natural/local » Pb (derived from rocks and soils, ²⁰⁶Pb/²⁰⁷Pb ≈ 1.17-1.20). Urban airborne particulate matter, sampled only a few metres from dense car traffic, yields a wide range of ²⁰⁶Pb/²⁰⁷Pb values (1.085 - 1.158), which do not fall entirely within the gasoline domain. As a consequence of recent environmental legislation and increased use of unleaded gasoline, emission of car-derived Pb has been drastically reduced and today, other sources of Pb are important contributors to total Pb, even in urban environments. In addition, this study demonstrates that the contribution of each end-member can vary considerably over the short-term as a Junction of car traffic density and wind direction.
