This review is a comprehensive up-dating of the previous 1980 report. This report primarily focuses on the evaluation of the period covering the years 1980-85. New chapters covering the economies of road transport such as costs traffic rates and revenue collection and policies such as pricing, vehicle import and traffic regulation have been added. The main objectives of the traffic survey was to determine the volume, composition and direction of movement of traffic on the major roads in the Northern Sudan. The traffic densities on major roads and the level of truck freight in particular was also investigated. (DÜI-Hff)
