Moving 24fps is a platform where teams of one professional dance maker and one filmmaker are paired to create work in a single weekend. These 'creatives' make work as a part of the touring Festival: It focuses exclusively on the production of screendance and is situated within various 'partner cities'. This article is informed by a collection of both informal and open forum interviews with over 25 creatives about their experience inside the project. We were curious how screendance can be used as a tool to help shape and reimagine each cities narrative as it relates to identity politics and what it could reveal about a national discourse of race and culture within the production of screendance. For the purposes of this journal, individual dance shorts from the Moving 24fps Detroit project will be used as case studies to examine the creative process and to investigate representation, equity, and inclusion in screendance curation and production. Two questions that frame this entire paper: What considerations and choices do creatives make to center race and geo-politics within their city? How does the project create or promote equity in dance film curation?

Political pundits whine that the world would be a better place if only more people thought like them. A clever engineer once told me that the world needs (his arms come together in a weight lifting pose, hands rounded together) more circles! Me? I want a world full of wise, thinking individuals. This is a world of minds that have an "inner balance wheel"; minds that protect themselves from extremes and under-use. Rudyard Kipling set up the model of a well-trained mind, "If you can keep your head while all around you are losing theirs and blaming it on you. " Thinking and reasoning aptitude can be built within a person like a physical muscle (Goodman and Goodman, 1991). Human beings can learn, develop, and enhance these capabilities as part of their maturity.

Intelligent vehicle‐highway systems (IVHS) combine computing, sensors
and telecom‐munications to deliver a more effective road/vehicle system
for freight and passenger vehicles. Many of these technologies involve
surveillance of the location and behaviour of identified vehicles and/or
people, and the collation of such data for further use. These and other
aspects of IVHS technologies raise concerns among the community, and
have delayed the adoption of some systems. Outlines IVHS systems, and
considers strategies for their introduction. The ownership and use of
data collected in the course of IVHS operations is shown to present
opportunities relating to revenue‐collection and law‐enforcement, on the
one hand, and public acceptability problems, on the other. There are
growing links with large‐scale data transmission facilities such as the
US National Information Initiative (NII) and the equivalent massive
interactive data networks developing elsewhere. Major errors in the
implementation of early elements of IVHS may make it extremely difficult
to deploy further elements. Argues that adoption of a number of
principles could safeguard the potential benefits at an acceptable
social cost.

"This new and substantially revised edition of 'Heritage Planning: Principles and Process' offers an extensive overview of the burgeoning fields of heritage planning and conservation. Positioning professional practice within its broader applied and theoretical contexts, the authors provide a firm foundation for understanding the principles, history, evolution, debates, and tools that inform heritage planning, while also demonstrating how to effectively enact these processes. Few published works focus on the practice of heritage planning. The first edition of this book was developed to fill this gap, and this second edition builds upon it. The book has been expanded in scope to incorporate new research and approaches, as well as a wide range of international case studies. New themes reflect the emerging recognition that sustainability, climate resilience, human rights, social justice, and reconciliation are fundamental to the future of planning. Heritage Planning is indispensable reading, not only for professionals who transform the built environment, but for anyone who wants to understand the ideas and practices of heritage planning and conservation. For the benefit of student readers, twelve chapters-designed to accommodate the academic semester-are augmented with concise summaries, key terms and definitions, questions, and learning objectives"

AbstractThere are inherent differences in the priorities of academics and policy-makers. These pose unique challenges for teams such as the Behavioural Insights Team (BIT), which has positioned itself as an organisation conducting academically rigorous behavioural science research in policy settings. Here we outline the threats to research transparency and reproducibility that stem from working with policy-makers and other non-academic stakeholders. These threats affect how we perform, communicate, verify and evaluate research. Solutions that increase research transparency include pre-registering study protocols, making data open and publishing summaries of results. We suggest an incentive structure (a simple 'nudge') that rewards BIT's non-academic partners for engaging in these practices.
