Discovered in 2019 Late Paleolithic site Ovrazhnaia is the utmost western point of archaeological heritage site OAH "Afontova Gora IV" on the territory of Krasnoyarsk city. Rescue archaeological research of the site Ovrazhnaia has been carried out for two years (2020-2021) on the territory allocated for the construction of the highway. In 2021, relatively detached archaeological complexes with dwelling and production areas with hearths, game animals butchering areas and stone production workshops were unearthed within the excavated section of about 11 000 sq. m. Five thousand stone artefacts and more than 15 thousand faunal remains were discovered in total. The most significant discovery is a pit (hearth?) with stone walling and humous filling in it. Multiple fossilized hare bones (at least 25 animals) and a significant inventory of stone tools were found on the bordering area of about 300 sq. m. The stone inventory of Ovrazhnaia site includes almost all known types of the Late Paleolithic tools in Siberia: cores for large and middle-size blades, wedge-shaped microcores, side-scrapers, end-scrapers, burins, chisel-like tools, knives, hammer stones, choppers. Slotted tools, points, hammer stones (strikers) are made of reindeer antlers; long bones were used to manufacture needles and a needle case. Faunal remains are mainly represented by the reindeer and hare bones, rarely - red deer, horse, bison, mammoth (fragments of mammoth tusk).Nowadays, the Late Paleolithic site Ovrazhnaia (OAH "Afontova Gora IV") is the most informative site on the territory of Krasnoyarsk city.

This paper presents archival and published materials from the complex geoarchaeological site Malaya Syya, located in a promising area for studying the Paleolithic of Southern Siberia (at the junction of three large orographic structures: the Kuznetsk Alatau mountains, the Batenevsky ridge and the Chebakovo-Balakhta depression of the Minusinsk intermountain trough). The cultural horizons of Malaya Syya are included in deposits of complex genesis, which served as the general background for an ambiguous reading of the stratigraphic, chronological, and archaeological context of cultural remains. The development of archaeological knowledge in Siberia has made it possible to use more effective methods for studying the Malaya Syya assemblages from the point of view of attribution of the collection of stone and bone implements, chronological and planigraphic (spatial) determination. Returning to the early stages of studying this site, it required a detailed understanding of the sequence of formation of research hypotheses against the background of the general development of archaeological knowledge, analysis of the conclusions of researchers (V. E. Larichev, Yu. P. Kholyushkin, N. F. Lisitsyn, etc.) and an explanation of the reasons for the appearance such points of view. We have presented a detailed chronology of the history of research on Malaya Syya, based on the study and analysis of archival materials (archives of the Field Research Department of the Institute of Archaeology RAS, archives of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography SB RAS) and published data. It seems to us that the early stages of research on Malaya Syya were dominated by the position of V. E. Larichev's selfless desire to preserve the destroyed object within the framework of the Iyus Archaeological Reserve. The history of the study determines the key problems of modern understanding of the general process of sedimentation at the site Malaya Syya, geostratigraphy, geochronology, paleontology, characteristics of the archaeological context and attribution of collections, issues of adaptation of the ancient population in specific nature conditions. The current materials and results of research on the site are presented in a series of sequential publications, which are expected to be presented in a monographic study.

Geoarchaeological studies have benefits from new technological developments in remote-sensing technologies that have become an integral and important part of the archeological researches. In particular, structure-from-motion (SfM) photogrammetry is one of the most successful emerging techniques in high-resolution topography (HRT) and provides exceptionally fast, low-cost, and easy three-dimensional (3D) survey for geoscience applications. In this chapter, we present an example of SfM application for geoarchaeology. The purpose is to realize HRT digital terrain models (DTMs) of an area of prehistoric agricultural terracing together with a geoarchaeological excavation trench in the Ingram Valley, Northumberland National Park, NE England. The study area is one of the six pilot case studies of TerrACE archeological research project (ERC-2017-ADG: 787790, 2018–2023; https://www.terrace.no/ ), a 5-year European Research Council grant funded by the European Union. An integrated approach utilizing ground-based and UAV (nadir and oblique) images was used to preserve fine-grained topographic detail and permit the accurate survey of highly vegetated areas and steep or subvertical surfaces (e.g., vertical walls of terraces), while also allowing for the capture of large spatial datasets. The SfM-DTM provided an accurate and high level of detail of the terrace landscape, the archeological features, and the soil and sediment stratigraphy along the excavation trench. An additional terrace was identified that had not been recognized before due to the HRT study bringing out a level of detail that had not been previously observable in this area. The SfM 3D outputs allowed the extraction of profiles, sections, scaled plans, and orthomosaics of the terrace complex and the excavation trench, simplifying and speeding the archeologist's field and laboratory work. SfM has shown it to be a rapid, cost effective, and highly accurate technique for surveying archeological sites at both a landscape and localized scale and adding new and more accurate information in nationally important landscapes and beyond.

The article analyzes the originality of the ethnocultural dynamics of the Krasnoyarsk Territory in the context of artistic practice. The general dynamics of ethnic groups inhabiting the Krasnoyarsk Krai from the early 17th century to the early 21st century is shown. At the same time, within the framework of this dynamics such stages pre-Soviet, Soviet and post-Soviet were identified. A general characteristic of the creativity of Krasnoyarsk artists who worked in the selected periods is given. Within the framework of the philosophical and art history analysis, the works of D. I. Karatanova, Yu. P. Ishkhanov and S. E. Anufrieva as the most representative for each period and, at the same time, allowing to consider creativity in its various forms (painting, sculpture and ceramics) were selected and studied in detail. As a result, it was concluded that these works most clearly reflect the changes of a person living in these territories and his/her relationship with nature and historical roots

The article presents the results of an interdisciplinary study of the burial from Vsekhsvyatskii Orthodox necropolis (Krasnoyarsk, 18th–19th centuries). The excavations of the necropolis were carried out by Yu. A. Grevtsov in 2021.The buried individual had a pathological curvature of the spine in the sagittal plane, more than 90 degrees. The purpose of this work is to study the burial using the methods of archaeology, anthropology, forensic medicine, and forensic science. Observations during the archaeological work allowed the author of the excavations to attribute the burial to the 20–30s of the 19th century. The skeletal remains from the burial belonged to a woman whose age at the time of death was 20–25 years. According to morphological features, the woman's skull belongs to a large Caucasoid race with slight signs of miscegenation. Facial reconstruction of the woman was made on the basis of a multi-angle images of the cerebral and facial parts of the skull. In accordance with the recommendations of forensic identification of a person on the basis of appearance, her verbal portrait was compiled. Osteometric studies showed that the longitudinal dimensions of the long tubular bones were large. The bones of the postcranial skeleton of the examined woman were gracile. As a result of the forensic medical examination and X-ray examination of the skeleton, a late stage of spondylitis was discovered, which is confirmed by the age characteristic of this disease. The woman suffered tuberculosis in childhood, as a result was formed a hump. A significant absence of narrowing of the spinal canal throughout the deformed area of the spine indicates incomplete formation of the Pott triad. The development of the bones of the upper and lower extremities indicates the absence of limb paralysis of this woman. Sufficiently developed areas of muscle attachment sites on long tubular bones allow us to speak of active physical activity. Compensatory changes in the cervical spine and the structure of the chest allowed this individual to keep his head relatively straight. The woman died at a young age. The cause of death could be both tuberculosis damage to other organs, and disruption of the cardiovascular or other systems associated with chest deformity.
