OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the polymorphisms of the IGF-II, IGF-I and its receptor genes and endometriosis in Korean women. DESIGN: A case - control study. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The IGF-I -969 (CA) block, A(-603)T, and T(-553)C polymorphisms, and IGF-II c.517 C>T, c.540 G>T, and 820 G>A polymorphisms, and IGF-I receptor c.3129 G>A polymorphism were analyzed in women with (n¼129) and without endometriosis (n¼108) and male neonates(n¼122) by GeneScan, direct sequencing and restriction fragment length polymorphism. Women without endometriosis and male neonates were served as controls. Clinical stage was classified according to the revised American Fertility Society Classification. RESULTS: The IGF-I T(-553)C, IGF-II II c.517 C>T, and c.540 G>T polymorphisms were not observed. Among polymorphisms measured, the IGF-I receptor c.3129 G>A, and IGF-II 820 G>A polymorphisms were associated with endometriosis. AA genotype of the IGF-I receptor c.3129G>A polymorphism had lower risk of endometriosis (odds ratio: 0.52, 95% confidence level: 0.31-0.87) compared with other genotype, whileGG genotype of IGF-II 820 G>A polymorphism showed 2.3 times higher risk of endometriosis compared with non GG genotype. These relationships were observed in early stage endometriosis (stage I + stage II), but not in late stage endometriosis (stage III + stage IV). CONCLUSION: The IGF-I receptor c.3129 G>A, and IGF-II 820 G>A polymorphisms are genetic factors which may be associated with endometriosis in Korean women. ; Supported by: National Research Foundation ofKorea Grant funded by the Korean Government (2009-0070751). ; 0

OBJECTIVES: To develop imaging guidelines for patients with fistula-in-ano and other causes of anal sepsis. METHODS: An expert group of 13 members of the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (ESGAR) used a modified Delphi process to vote on a series of consensus statements relating to the imaging of patients with potential anal sepsis. Participants first completed a questionnaire to gather practice information and to help frame the statements posed. RESULTS: In the first round of voting, the expert group scored 51 statements of which 45 (88%) achieved immediate consensus. The remaining 6 statements were redrafted following input from the expert group and consensus achieved for all during a second round of voting, including an additional statement drafted. No statement was rejected due to a lack of consensus. After redrafting to improve clarity, 53 individual statements were presented. CONCLUSION: These expert consensus statements can be used to guide appropriate indication, acquisition, interpretation and reporting of medical imaging for patients with potential fistula-in-ano and other causes of anal sepsis. KEY POINTS: • Medical imaging, notably magnetic resonance imaging, is used widely for the diagnosis and monitoring of fistula-in-ano and other causes of anal and perianal sepsis. • While the indexed medical literature is clear that diagnostic accuracy is potentially excellent, this depends on competent image acquisition and interpretation. • In order to facilitate this, the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (ESGAR) has produced expert consensus guidelines regarding the imaging of fistula-in-ano and related conditions. © 2015 Macmillan Publishers Limited. Ruminant livestock are important sources of human food and global greenhouse gas emissions. Feed degradation and methane formation by ruminants rely on metabolic interactions between rumen microbes and affect ruminant productivity. Rumen and camelid foregut microbial community composition was determined in 742 samples from 32 animal species and 35 countries, to estimate if this was influenced by diet, host species, or geography. Similar bacteria and archaea dominated in nearly all samples, while protozoal communities were more variable. The dominant bacteria are poorly characterised, but the methanogenic archaea are better known and highly conserved across the world. This universality and limited diversity could make it possible to mitigate methane emissions by developing strategies that target the few dominant methanogens. Differences in microbial community compositions were predominantly attributable to diet, with the host being less influential. There were few strong co-occurrence patterns between microbes, suggesting that major metabolic interactions are non-selective rather than specific. ; We thank Ron Ronimus, Paul Newton, and Christina Moon for reading and commenting on the manuscript. The CDF and D0 experiments have measured the effective-leptonic electroweak mixing parameter sin(2) theta(lept)(eff) using electron and muon pairs selected from the full Tevatron proton-antiproton data sets collected in 2001-2011, corresponding to 9-10 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity. The combination of these measurements yields the most precise result from hadron colliders, sin(2)theta(lept)(eff) = 0.23148 +/- 0.00033. This result is consistent with, and approaches in precision, the best measurements from electron-positron colliders. The standard model inference of the on-shell electroweak mixing parameter sin(2) theta(W), or equivalently the W-boson mass M-W, using the ZFITTER software package yields sin(2) theta(W) = 0.22324 +/- 0.00033 or equivalently, M-W = 80.367 +/- 0.017 GeV/c(2).

These measurements use the full data sets collected in proton-antiproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of root s = 1.96 TeV. We report the results of combinations of the inclusive asymmetries and their differential dependencies on relevant kinematic quantities. The combined inclusive asymmetry is A(FB)(t (t) over bar) = 0.128 +/- 0.025. The combined inclusive and differential asymmetries are consistent with recent standard model predictions.
