The GATT and environmental policy: an analysis of potential conflicts and policy reforms

Evaluates the policy issues which have arisen in the debate over the perceived conflict between environmental policy goals and the pursuit of more open multilateral trade under the evolving GATT framework. Argues that improving the international trading environment and improving the state of the natural environment are desirable and reconcilable public policy aims. (Original abstract-amended)
