Im Rahmen dieser Dissertation befasst sich der Autor mit intrafamiliären Beziehungen von Familien psychisch erkrankter Kinder. Der Autor bezieht sich hierbei auf Familien, deren Kinder wegen einer psychischen Erkrankung in einer Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie teilstationär behandelt werden. Den Autor interessiert, welche Beziehungskonstellationen in den Familien vorgefunden werden und wie diese aussehen. Er geht der Frage nach, inwieweit in intrafamiliären, transgenerationalen Beziehungen Phänomene und Interaktionen auffindbar sind, die eventuell Einfluss auf die Entwicklung, Gestaltung und Aufrechterhaltung von familiären aber auch partnerschaftlichen Beziehungen haben können. Hier geht es vor allem um das Thema der Weitergabe von Beziehungsmustern (vgl. Olsen, 1979; Stierlin, 1974; Cierpka, 2003 et al.) von einer Generation an die nächste, sowie die Klärung der Frage nach der Qualität und der Bedeutung von Beziehungen in sog. pathologischen Familienkonstellationen. Durch einen multiprofessionellen Blick (psychoanalytisch, psychodynamisch, systemisch, zeitgeschichtlich-soziologisch) versucht der Autor, die Mehrgenerationenperspektive dieser Arbeit zu veranschaulichen und individuelle Erlebnisse vor dem Hintergrund familienhistorischer Beziehungserlebnisse zu beleuchten. Theoretisch wird die Arbeit durch die Konzepte der Bindungsforschung (vgl. Bowlby, 1973; Main, 1997 et al.) und der Entwicklungspsychologie (vgl. Kernberg, 1982; Fonagy, 2003 et al.) begleitet sowie reflektiert. Die qualitative Forschungsarbeit, die im Kontext der sozialwissenschaftlichen Hermeneutik einzuordnen ist, wird methodisch durch die Grounded Theory aufbereitet. Ziel der Verwendung der Grounded Theory in dieser Arbeit (vgl. Glaser, 1978; Strauß, 1987; Stauss/Cobin, 1990) ist, die Entwicklung einer gegenstandsbezogenen Theorie sowie das Aufdecken sozialer und familiärer Phänomene. Durch offene und halbstrukturierte Interviews sowie die Verwendung von Genogrammen beschäftigt sich der Autor mit dem Narrativ familiärer Biographien. Schwerpunkt seiner Arbeit ist die Betrachtung und Deutung pathogener Faktoren in den genannten Familien. Die Forschung liegt damit in dem Spannungsfeld der objektivierbaren Wahrnehmungswelt der medizinisch/psychologischen Quantifizierung und der hermeneutisch subjektivierbaren Sozialwissenschaft. Ziel dieser Forschungsarbeit ist es, im Sinne der transgenerationalen Familienforschung, einen erweiterten Blick auf das ganzheitliche Verständnis familiärer/pathogener Familienbeziehungen zu erhalten.

Considering the ongoing rise of the multidrug-resistant bacterial infections, it is essential to expand the available repertoire of therapeutic agents. Microbial natural products are an indispensable source of novel activities and continue to serve as our main provider of antibiotics and chemotherapeutics. Nonribosomal peptides are among the most widespread natural products in bacteria and fungi. Their importance is best illustrated by their complexity and the amounts of resources dedicated to building the underlying biosynthetic machineries nonribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPS). These gigantic, multidomain enzymes synthesize peptides by linking individual amino acid units in an assembly line fashion. Six decades of NRPS research have resulted in several remarkable tailoring successes. However, the lack of mechanistic understanding of the inner workings of NRPSs has prevented the development of a general workflow which would reliably generate functional enzymes and new drugs. Aspiring to alleviate these obstacles, this thesis offers critical insights into adenylation and the interplay with condensation, two fundamental NRPS reactions.

This study investigates synthetic aperture radar (SAR) time series of the Sentinel-1 mission acquired over the Atacama Desert, Chile, between March 2015 and December 2018. The contribution analyzes temporal and spatial variations of Sentinel-1 interferometric SAR (InSAR) coherence and exemplarily illustrates factors that are responsible for observed signal differences. The analyses are based on long temporal baselines (365-1090 days) and temporally dense time series constructed with short temporal baselines (12-24 days). Results are compared to multispectral data of Sentinel-2, morphometric features of the digital elevation model (DEM) TanDEM-X WorldDEM (TM), and to a detailed governmental geographic information system (GIS) dataset of the local hydrography. Sentinel-1 datasets are suited for generating extensive, nearly seamless InSAR coherence mosaics covering the entire Atacama Desert (>450 x 1100 km) at a spatial resolution of 20 x 20 meter per pixel. Temporal baselines over several years lead only to very minor decorrelation, indicating a very high signal stability of C-Band in this region, especially in the hyperarid uplands between the Coastal Cordillera and the Central Depression. Signal decorrelation was associated with certain types of surface cover (e.g., water or aeolian deposits) or with actual surface dynamics (e.g., anthropogenic disturbance (mining) or fluvial activity and overland flow). Strong rainfall events and fluvial activity in the periods 2015 to 2016 and 2017 to 2018 caused spatial patterns with significant signal decorrelation; observed linear coherence anomalies matched the reference channel network and indicated actual episodic and sporadic discharge events. In the period 2015-2016, area-wide loss of coherence appeared as strip-like patterns of more than 80 km length that matched the prevailing wind direction. These anomalies, and others observed in that period and in the period 2017-2018, were interpreted to be caused by overland flow of high magnitude, as their spatial location matched well with documented heavy rainfall events that showed cumulative precipitation amounts of more than 20 mm.
