Psychiatric morbidity of hospitalized foreign students in Yugoslavia was analyzed in a 25-year retrospective study and was compared to the psychiatric morbidity of a group of Yugoslav students hospitalized in the same psychiatric institutions, over the same time period. Results showed significantly higher rates of paranoid and depressive reactions amongstforeign students, and suggested correlation between their psychiatric morbidity and maladaptation to the new living conditions.
