ISSN: 2261-2424
The rapid development of Macao's tourism economy has attracted a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to visit famous scenic spots in Macau, including the Ruins of St. Paul. The research object is to explore the impact of tourist factors on tourist attractions in Macau on their purchase intentions: (1) the impact of tourists coming to Macao on the local economy; (2) whether the infrastructure, service quality and other factors of local attractions in Macao are trusted by tourists; (3) based on the above factors, the willingness of tourists to consume in Macao. In order to study the future development direction of Macau's tourism economy as well as to discover the existing problems in the tourism industry, this paper takes the Ruins of St. Paul's attraction as the blueprint of the survey, and uses multiple linear regression to quantitatively analyze the six dimensions of Infrastructure Construction (IC), Public Transportation Services (PTS), Marketing Services (MS), Tourism Supervision Services (TSS), Perceived Trust Level (PTL), and Visitors' Willingness to Spend Money at the Attraction (The six dimensions of PI) were quantitatively analyzed to derive the level of satisfaction regarding travelers' visit to the St. Paul's Pavilion, and ultimately the path coefficients associated with each variable. The results of the study revealed that :(1) When tourists visit the Ruins of St. Paul in Macao, the infrastructure, public transportation, market services, and trust of tourists in the attraction have a significant positive impact on the purchase decision of tourists, while the local tourism services have no significant impact on the purchase decision. (2) There is a positive correlation between tourists' evaluation of the infrastructure, public transportation, market services and tourism supervision of the big three buses, and (3) the above factors are positively related to their trust in scenic spots and willingness to buy, indicating that there is a certain relationship between different variables. The results of this analysis and the corresponding conclusions drawn provide a reference for enhancing the overall tourism development of the city of Macau.
Carbon emission trading scheme and corporate financialization: Evidence from China
In: SHS web of Conferences: open access proceedings in Social and Human Sciences, Band 192, S. 02017
ISSN: 2261-2424
To achieve the carbon goals, the Chinese government initially implemented the carbon ETS in 2013 in 7 pilot provinces and cities. Using the firm-level financial and management data of the A-share listed companies in the 30 provinces of mainland China from 2008 to 2020, this paper examines the ETS impact on corporate financialization by constructing a DID model. The result supports the "crowd-out" effect that the implementation of ETS decreases corporate financialization and this negative impact is weaker on the state-owned firms, located in the eastern region of China, and are not in the manufacturing industry. These findings imply that other than the original target to reduce carbon emissions, the ETS, by its market-based nature, is effective in reducing the risk of over-financialization.
How to promote urban employment in the process of local transformation and upgrading? -- Analysis based on principal component regression
In: SHS web of Conferences: open access proceedings in Social and Human Sciences, Band 192, S. 01005
ISSN: 2261-2424
The possible unemployment in the process of industrial upgrading may affect the improvement of residents' well-being, so it is very necessary to study its influencing factors. Based on time series data from 2000 to 2019, this paper selects indicators that may affect urban labor employment from three dimensions: economic growth, structural change and technological progress, and further analyzes the factors affecting urban labor employment through principal component regression on this basis. The empirical results show that although economic growth factors can also have a positive effect on urban labor employment, its impact is not significant compared with the other two types of factors. Therefore, the government should combine various measures to promote employment, accelerate the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure at the same time, increase investment in independent research and development, improve the level of technological innovation, and should also focus on improving the quality of workers.
Spatial characteristics of community mental health institutions in urban contexts—Using the architectural design of the Mallet ST Youth Mental Health Centre in Sydney, Australia as a case study
In: SHS web of Conferences: open access proceedings in Social and Human Sciences, Band 192, S. 01012
ISSN: 2261-2424
Promoting the Comprehensive Mental Health Action Plan 2013-2030 issued by WHO, there is a global trend to transform the mental health care system from a psychiatric hospital-centred mode to a community-based network. Under this trend, decentralised community mental health institutions are gradually replacing psychiatric hospitals and mitigating the stigma of mental illness in the community. Plus, the operation mode and functions of mental health facilities become different, with their space design emphasising different features and requirements. Especially in urban contexts where it is crowded and people face more stressors and complex environments, mental health facilities have more challenges in dealing with the relationship with the surrounding community, reducing stigma from the community, and the impact of the space on patients' mental health. The goal is to explore the spatial characteristics of community mental health institutions in cities and to establish architectural design strategies for these institutions. Through a summary of theories on the built environment of community mental health institutions, combined with an analysis of internationally approved projects, five spatial characteristics were identified: (1) community shared space, (2) threshold space, (3) therapy space, (4) activity space, and (5) natural space. The research on the above five spatial characteristics, combined with the local social and cultural background and the specific needs of adolescents' mental health, was innovatively applied to the architectural design of the Mallet ST Youth Mental Health Centre in Sydney, Australia.

Analysis of the Impact of the Fed's Interest Rate Hike Policy Based on the Triple Exponential Smoothing Method
In: SHS web of Conferences: open access proceedings in Social and Human Sciences, Band 192, S. 02001
ISSN: 2261-2424
The US has been employing quantitative easing and printing money for more than a decade, fueling inflation while lifting government debt. To deal with the high CPI, the Federal Reserve (Fed) has resorted to a policy of interest rate hikes, especially in the past two years, when the US interest rates have been on an upward trend. This has led to divergence in the economic trends and policy directions of countries, with China facing a more complex and severe external environment. In this connection, first of all, this paper gathers the response policy of each country during the Fed's interest rate hikes, makes qualitative analysis of those response policies, and provides pertinent suggestions for China's economic activities based on its national realities. Then, this paper collects data on the US interest rates, CPI, changes in nonfarm payrolls, monthly rate of retail sales, ISM manufacturing index, and ISM non-manufacturing index starting from January 2022 to December 2023, builds a model using the Triple Exponential Smoothing Method and applying statistical analysis, and solves it with python programming. Finally, the paper analyzes changes in the macro-indicators of the results and forecasts data on each indicator for the next six months to derive the trend of the data on indicators concerning future interest rate hikes. By predicting the impact of future events on China's economy, investment, foreign trade and other aspects, the author expects the country to make corresponding regulatory plans and policy reserves.
