Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities in the Post-Truth Era: The Reality Machine
This book evaluates and dissects the ways in which post-truth operates in the public sphere and social media cape. Without understanding and exposing the workings of post-truth and its uses by politicians, media, and other ideological state apparatuses, meaningful social change for the larger good of the masses, irrespective of time and space, cannot be imagined. Social media, where such falsehoods are usually spread and believed, worsens matters. There have been many academic and intellectual reactions to the idea and practice of post-truth, and this book brings together research from different disciplines to reveal how each discipline has been affected by the post-truth era, and what the intellectual reactions have been in each respective field
