Berbagai tantangan dalam menyiapkan siswa yang tangguh dan bermoral diantaranya : globalisasi, teknologi, migrasi, kompetisi internasional, perubahan pasar, tantangan lingkungan dan politik internasional. Upaya pemerintah menyiapkan generasi emas dengan pembangunan dibidang pendidikan, diantaranya dengan melakukan penyempurnaan kurikulum dan peningkatan profesionalisme guru. Dalam era revolusi 4.0 yang merupakan era digitalisasi, guru dituntut untuk menguasai IT dalam system pembelajaranya baik proses belajar mengajar maupun pemanfaatan sumber dan media pembelajaran. Hal ini berkaitan dengan implementasi 4 kompetensi guru dalam pembelajaran di era milenial diantaranya: (1) Kompetensi professional (2) Kompetensi pedagogik, (3) Kompetensi Sosial dan (4)Kompetensi kepribadian. Sebagai seorang guru yang mendidik , dengan kemajuan perkembangan zaman seharusnya dapat beradaptasi dan menyesuaikan cara mengajar dan membawakan materi dengan baik agar mudah dipahami oleh siswa di era milenial.

The rise of issues related to multicultural issues such as tribal wars, separatism and other movements that have the potential to cause national disintegration are urgent and require appropriate solutions. In the Indonesian context, the younger generation (student) becomes a potential subject to break the multicultural conflict. In relation to the issue, one potential form of solution is multicultural education especially through historical learning because of its potential to build a sense of tolerance and mutual respect. Therefore, this article will focus on the discussion of the implementation of multicultural education in history learning at SMAN 3 Surakarta. The methodology used is the Case Study with the design of Robert K. Yin. The results of the study indicate that the strategies used by history teachers in applying multicultural education in learning history is Cooperative Learning with the form of discussion, group work and presentation. The strategy is considered suitable because it is able to figure out the Affective, Cognitive and Psychomotor aspects of students. Obstacles experienced are very diverse include student saturation, dissatisfaction with the group of teachers to the limitations of the cost of learning outside the classroom in the historical site observation activities that match historical learning materials so that the majority of learning done in the class using photo and video media

This research analyzes the problems of women`s leadership and gender equality in Aceh. The analysis is focused on the basic philosophical of women`s leadership in Aceh. The qualitative-descriptive was used as the research approach. The primary data were collected by interview and observation to the informants. The secondary data were taken from journals, books, and other reliable resources. The results of the research show that the spiritual and intellectual values of Islam and adat (custom) become the basic philosophical of Acehnese women`s leadership. Woman and man have equal roles, opportunities, rights, and responsibility to be a leader in the society based on Al-Qur`an and Sunnah, which are aligned with the Acehnese`s culture.

Advances in technology have driven changes in books into the digital age. Even the Indonesian government, in this case, the Ministry of Education and Culture has implemented it in the form of school electronic books or commonly called BSE. However, ebooks or BSE in schools today, still have weaknesses that should be improved. One of them through e-books in the flipbook format. The purpose of this study is to describe the use of flipbook science media in science learning in elementary schools. This research is a qualitative descriptive study conducted in class V SDN Cemara Dua Surakarta, SDN Mangkubumen Lor No.15 Surakata, and SDN Mangkubumen Kidul No.16 Surakarta in 2016/2017 school year. Data collection techniques are carried out using triangulation of data or sources through observation, interviews, and documentary studies. Data analysis starts from the stage of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results showed that the use of flipbook science media in science learning in elementary schools can be used optimally if the elementary school has supporting facilities or facilities, such as PCs, LCDs, and sound systems as well as good teacher and student resources in the field of technology. basic computer operating skills. : The purposes of this research are to describe: the background of Muhammad Husni Thamrin's life, political conditions in the Dutch East Indies from 1919-1941, the political roles period 1919-1941, period 1919-1941 as the development of Indonesian history materials for XI grade of high school. This research uses the historical method. The research procedure was carried out through 4 stages of activities namely: heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded: Muhammad Husni is work experience before becoming a member of the board included an internship at the Kepatihan office and the Batavia's Karesidenan office, The Political Situation of the Dutch East Indies in 1919-1941 based on Colonial Political policy, divided into 2 periods namely reactionary politics (1918-1930) the last decade of the Dutch East Indies (1930-1942) where national movements were centered on the People's Council and the cooperative party, Political role in 1919-1941 within. the Dutch East Indies government was a member of the City Council of Batavia and People's Council. The presented research elucidates the values of Willem Iskandar's books, Si Bulus Bulus Si Rumbuk Rumbuk, and those functions in commemorating the student's memory about the character education, religiosity, and nationalism. Descriptive qualitative was employed as research approach. The data were collected through literature reviews and content analysis of Si Bulus Bulus Si Rumbuk Rumbuk. The analysis focuses on the description of values inside of the Willem Iskandar's poetry and contextual aspect that underlying it. The result of research portrays that the Willem Iskandar's poetry contains the norms that construct the behavioral pattern of Mandailing society. The proses have a function in shaping the character and evolving the movements against the Dutch colonialism. In the educational dimension, the values inside of Willem Iskandar's poetry become important to be studied in line with the problem of global capitalism that stimulates identity turmoil in any aspect of human life.

This article focuses on building Joglo Majapahit in analyzing the traditional housing system in rural Java. Joglo Majapahit contains the value of social harmony that is reflected in the traditional housing model gemah ripah loh jinawi tata tentrem kerta raharja in the Java community. The data were collected using literature studies using Louis Gottchalk's history writing techniques and field studies using the verstehen theory from Wilhelm Dilthey as the analytical blade in highlighting the problem. The purpose of this research is to analyze the creation of Joglo Majapahit as the local genius of agrarian society that is agrarian in the stratification of social class in Majapahit XIV-XV century AD. The implications of this research are intended to enrich the learning of history in the study of the history of ancient culture in Indonesia which began to be forgotten by the young generation. The other side provides an alternative learning to not always focus on the grand narrative of national history of Indonesia which focuses on the historical side of nationalism but cultural topics need to be highlighted in this digital era.

Historical learning has not reached optimal in the learning process. It is caused by the history teachers' learning model has not used the innovative learning models. Furthermore, it supported by the perception of students to the history subject because it does not become final exam (UN) subject so it makes less improvement and builds less critical thinking in students' daily learning. This is due to the lack of awareness of historical events and the availability of history books for students and teachers in the library are still lacking. Discovery learning with scientific approach encourages students to solve problems actively and able to improve students' critical thinking skills with scientific approach so student can build scientific thinking include observing, asking, reasoning, trying, and networking.

Kasepuhan Ciptagelar is one of the Sundanese traditional village based on agricultural culture in West Java Province, Indonesia. Kasepuhan Ciptagelar people still hold and apply their ancestral cultural values in their daily life. The purpose of this study is to (1) know the existence of local wisdom values that exist in Kasepuhan Ciptagelar society; (2) to know the form of social solidarity values that exist in Kasepuhan Ciptagelar community and (3) Integration of local wisdom value for social solidarity development in globalization era. This research is a descriptive qualitative research, with ethnography approach. The results show that (1) Kasepuhan Ciptagelar community has some local wisdom, they are social solidarity, environment awareness, democratic, honest, responsibility and creative. The values of existing local wisdom still exist and are proven to survive in the era of globalization; (2) social solidarity in Kasepuhan Ciptagelar reflected from social interaction, trust and social awareness that exist in society; and (3) Development of social solidarity in the era of globalization can be done through the integration of local wisdom into education in School.

Abstract: Pesantren Tegalsari was one of the most influential religious-education institutions in Java during 18-19 century. Those years were the golden era of Pesantren Tegalsari which was known as an institution that produced "pujangga" (Javanese intellectuals) and the people of Tegalsari village was well known for producing high quality of dluwang (traditional paper). On the other hand, the 18-19 century itself was a time of turmoil, both socially and politically. Some events such as Geger Pacina (1742), Javanese Succession War III (1746–1755), Java War (1825-1830), and Cultuurstelsel (1830–1917) were crucial moments in the history of Indonesia, especially in Java. At this point, the ulema (Islamic scholars) of Pesantren Tegalsari played an important role. Thought and attitude movements of ulema (Islamic scholars) in Pesantren Tegalsari had determined the existence of the pesantren and the economic cycle of local commmunity. Historical research with post-colonial political approach was used to study the thought and attitude movement of ulama (Islamic scholars) in Pesantren Tegalsari during 1742–1862. The result of this research shows that Pesantren Tegalsari had a political line to not engage in practical politics. This political line was followed by all the leaders of Pesantren Tegalsari. As the result, Pesantren Tegalsari developed into an institution that produced poets and transformed into a place to seek legitimacy in social, academic, and politic.Abstrak: Pesantren Tegalsari merupakan salah satu lembaga pendidikan-keagamaan yang paling berpengaruh di Jawa abad 18-19. Tahun-tahun tersebut merupakan masa keemasan dari Pesantren Tegalsari yang dikenal sebagai lembaga pencetak pujangga (intelektual Jawa). Bagi masyarakat Desa Tegalsari sendiri, tahun-tahun itu adalah masa perekonomian yang dikembangkan sedang mengalami pertumbuhan yang pesat. Desa Tegalsari terkenal sebagai daerah penghasil dluwang (kertas tradisional) berkualitas tinggi yang diekspor ke berbagai daerah. Di sisi yang lain, abad 18-19 sendiri merupakan masa yang penuh dengan gejolak, baik secara sosial maupun politik. Beberapa peristiwa seperti geger pacina (1742), Perang Suksesi Jawa III (1746-1755), Perang Jawa (1825-1830), dan kebijakan tanam paksa (1830-1917) merupakan momen-momen krusial dalam perjalanan sejarah Indonesia, khususnya di pulau Jawa. Pada titik inilah ulama Pesantren Tegalsari, sebagai salah satu pimpinan lembaga pendidikan-keagamaan paling berpengaruh di Jawa abad 18-19 sekaligus tokoh panutan bagi masyarakat sekitar, memiliki peranan penting. Gerakan pemikiran dan sikap dari ulama Pesantren Tegalsari menjadi sangat menentukan eksistensi pesantren dan perputaran roda perekonomian masyarakat sekitar. Penelitian historis dengan pendekatan politik-poskolonial akan digunakan untuk mengkaji gerakan pemikiran dan sikap ulama Pesantren Tegalsari tahun 1742-1862. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pesantren Tegalsari memiliki garis politik untuk tidak terjun dalam politik praktis. Garis politik inilah yang diikuti oleh semua pimpinan Pesantren Tegalsari. Hasilnya adalah, Pesantren Tegalsari berkembang menjadi lembaga pencetak pujangga dan menjelma sebagai tempat untuk men­cari legitimasi, baik secara sosial, akademik, maupun politik

The underlying notion of this research was to investigate the Batik Latoh as one of maritime cultures of the Lasem community involved in the study of maritime history. The study of Indonesian history many times examined the events occurred on the land, even though more than half of Indonesian area covers the ocean. As the alternative of historical study, there is historical investigation based on maritime culture. This is a crucial issue recently since the area of Indonesia is mostly covered by the ocean. One of maritime history studies is the existing maritime potency in Lasem area. The batik of Lasem has the unique color of light red. The infiltrate of outside influence affects the pattern and color of batik. Batik latoh (genus of seaweeds/green algae) was the result of cross cultural of coastal Lasem people on the north coast of Java.

This article focuses in the analysis of Javanese life manner within Dongkrek art and ritual performance in Mejayan, Madiun, Indonesia. The purpose of research is to reflect a life manner of Javanese society within a Dongkrek show. The qualitative-descriptive was used as research approach. Data were collected by interview, literature review, and other relevant resources. The results of research show a five points of Javanese manner of life in Dongkrek, represent in the phrase Ambrasta Dur Hangkara, Memayu Hayuning Bawana, Sura Dira Jayaning Lebur Dening Pangastuti, Sadulur Papat Kalima Pancer, and Manunggaling Kawula Gusti. Those phrases contain many moral values that generally can be accepted by society. The phrase represents a human relationship, the manner of life, ways of life, world-view, willingness, and the transcendental relationship between humans and God. It means the purpose of the Javanese manner of life is to reach the perfection of life. The perfection of life is resting on the faith towards to the God through the maturity of spirituality.

This research is elucidating the teacher's roles in the implementation of media literacy in the historical learning. The research site is in Senior High School 2 Magelang with the subject of research is the history teachers and students in 10th grade and 11th grade. The qualitative method with case study approach was used in this research to to get deeper data that contain the meaning. The data collection was conducted through the observation by plunging into the field and observes directly how the conditions are running in the classroom. Then in addition, the authors also conducted interviews with the teachers and students. These data collection, then combined or triangulated with observation, interview and documentation. This research shows that the teacher's role in media literacy is necessary in the process of learning history. The media-based learning process requires supervision and direction from teachers because there is a potent to have positive and negative impacts.
