Metahumanism is presented as an evolution from critical posthumanism both in terms of an intensified critique of the Planetary Holocaust and of a radical pragmatics of becoming based on a movement philosophy which has diverse precursors back to the pre-Socratics and beyond. Metahuman studies and its critical counterpart in Trash-human studies is the corresponding studies field promoted by the Metahuman Futures Forum, an alternative whose urgency is justified due to the prevailing human supremacism in other existing intellectual and activist milieus, and which culminates in the performative proposal for a 'Trial against Humanity'. A choral politics of moving bodies is introduced through the Vision Statement of the Bodynet-Khorós EU project, aiming at a liberation of al life forms from human dominion and its extinction loop, for a metahuman r/evolution.

Over the past 10.000 years –an eyeblink in geological timescales- the exponential population growth of the Sapiens, from 1 million to nearly 10 billion, has taken over the planet, threatening evolution and biodiversity, linked to a culture of immobility and atrophy. Restoring the health of the planet and all its life forms demands a radical reduction of population (through stopping reproduction and promoting non-reproductive sexualities) and a radical change in ways of living: by regaining and reinventing the moving body and its sense of proprioception, as capacity for symbiosis and mutation towards a Body Intelligence (BI) r/evolution.

Body Intelligence is the body's capacity to vary, understood as fluctuating field whose primordial sense is proprioception, inherited form 4 billion years of bacterial sex and simbiogenesis. Ontohacking/metaformance techniques to unfold BI are proposed in face of a millennia old tendency to reduce sensorimotor plasticity, linked to systems of domination and exponentially expanding in current hypercolonial, transhumanist dystopias of control and AI.

This special issue is dedicated to the 1st Metahuman Futures Forum held in Lesvos on 1-2 October 2022, as part of the Bodynet-Khorós project co-funded by the European Union[1] and contains part of the theoretical research of the project. The issue comprises a collection of seven papers, a book review, and the Metahuman Futures Manifesto, all of which contribute to the understanding of metahumanism and its relationship with posthumanism and transhumanism in the age of planetary holocaust.

The Research and Nature Conservation Programme in Equatorial Guinea was launched in 1985, financed by the Spanish Technical Co-operation Agency. The Programme's main objectives were to: (i) increase scientific research; (ii) set up a Museum of Natural History for the country; (iii) update environmental legislation; (iv) create a network of protected natural areas; (v) promote Equatorial Guinea's participation in international forums on the environment; (vi) train local per­ sonnel and (vii) implement environmental education programmes. Actions undertaken and results obtained over a ten-year period are reviewed herein. The Programme has been important in raising the level of scientific awareness of the country's resources but more importantly, it has catalysed the inception of the country's existing legal framework for environmental protection (Ley 8/1988). Within this law, regulations with respect to wildlife, protected areas and hunting were promulgated. These include the legal basis to create other reserve areas and non-profit orga­ nizations related to wildlife protection. La cooperación internacional en materia de conservación de la biodiversidad comenzó en Guinea Ecuatorial hace más de 20 años con el fin de apoyar a las autoridades del país en la conservación de su rico patrimonio natural. A lo largo de estos años, un amplio número de proyectos se han llevado a cabo con importantes resultados, pero con similares limitaciones y retos. A pesar de los importantes esfuerzos llevados a cabo por las autoridades ecuatoguineanas, aun no se ha asumido plenamente que la conservación de la biodiversidad es, sobretodo, un desafío propio. Junto a ello, el desarrollo de las recientes instituciones nacionales de conservación y la adecuada formación del suficiente número de personal local, sería el siguiente reto. Conseguir una financiación continuada en el tiempo para las acciones de conservación de la biodiversidad ayudará al establecimiento de estrategias de conservación en el país que puedan conseguir resultados eficaces a largo plazo. ; International cooperation with the Equatorial Guinean administration in biodiversity conservation issues started more than 20 years ago. Since then, an ample number of projects have been implemented with different outcomes but similar limitations and challenges. Despite of most governmental effort, future conservation proposals in the country will have to attain authorities assume like own the biodiversity conservation of the country. Next to it, the development of the recent national conservation institutions and the appropriate training of sufficient number of local staff could be the following challenge. To obtain a continued funding to support conservation actions will help to the establishment in the country of a strategy of conservation that secure effective results in the long term.
